  • new cultural armors in BURIED SEA?

I read that there is going new armor to be made in BS. Is it going to be cultural(crosses fingers) or generic like the OOW armor? Also is the base smithing skills going to increase to 350? Common someone has to know.

Just like to know what fun and frustrations are up ahead.

I think it very unlikely that tradeskill caps will change within the next couple years.

I do hope this will not become the standard for this expansion..it is THE Buried Sea. However time will tell.

After all, it is just a few letters and it is the content of the message communicated that is important not the individual letters.

It is lost on most people outside of the health care profession though. And then all the Navy folks are thinking Boatswain's Mate (BM).

              But, yes it is funny.

I've worked in healthcare for 13 years now (albeit in the Information Technology section) and I have no idea what BM would stand for...I feel like I should be kicking myself, though.

Edit: Ok...nm...looked it up online. I'm assuming it's Bowel Movement and not Behavior Modelling.

No clue if there's going to be more armor or weapons in TBS ...

But IMO GM armor is very good, even with just DoN bought augs (50 hp slot 7, and whatever you want in the slot 12), so I'd *love* to see new crafted weapons in TBS, though relatively speaking, to be as good as Gates of Discord's Velium Gemmed weapons were, they'd have to be roughly 25 damage 20 delay one handers, if not 30 damage 20 delay ... and thats a bit bigger than is currently available outside raiding, or even to many raiders who're still working on Time and pre-Txevu/Tacvi Gates of Discord.

I'd also like to see some smithed weapons, especially if we can add differing bane effects somehow, though I'm not holding out any real hope. And new armours bringing them up to par or just below with the stuff dropping now (DoN is what, 3-4 expansions old now?).
and come on collaboration with fletchers and tinkerers to make crossbows - even if they aren't very good

In terms of AC, the Grandmaster armor is the best there is ... in terms of HP and other effects, its a good choice at 65 if you've got a handy supply of the metallic drake scales and know someone who can craft it - though simply plowing through to 71 and doing the TSS armor quests likely leads to better gear if one lacks Bazu or Last Blood augs to put into the GM armor.

In terms of weapons ... the Velium Gemmed stuff is far more antiquated in terms of release date, though the quality of weapons available to non-raiders has been more stagnant than that of armor, so as a weapon set its not quite as far from the top of the line as its expansion (Gates of Discord) would suggest.

NDA lifted, no it's not cultural. It is "generic" like magnetic was, but the system is decent. That said, the max ts'd armor and other ts'd stuff maxes at lvl 60. Anything over that are rewards from more of an ldon/don point system. In short, no high-end player-made armor like DoN or OoW magnetic/w cores.

From what I can tell, player-made lvl 60 armor will not be better than DoN GM armor "all-in-all." It may be prefered by some players, however. The lvl 30 and 50 armors seem to fill in gaps with the DoN armors, though I am unsure how well.

However, I believe that the point-purchased armors will be better than DoN GM armors (without bazu/last bloods of course). I'm pretty certain of this keeping in mind TSS armors, but I have not seen them first-hand.

So with this expansion we have a yet another new pp, Ldon points, Don crystals item. Are the items tradeable like Don crystals or are they not tradeable like LDON points?

4 currencies and they are tradable: pirate, combine, and 2 raid currencies.

And they have added an Alternate Currency tab to the inventory window.

They will be Moving the DoN crystals over to it soon.

The LDoN points may or may not move. They are unfortunately a totally different system, so a bit harder to deal with and we are not sure at this time if the effort to "convert" will be worth the result. A decision has not been made yet on that though.
