  • Yttrium Steel Sheet 335?

Hi all. I was recently camping that shrink wand in the Deep (with no success) and looted several Yttrium ore. I found they sold quite well in the bazaar and was quite pleased. When I looked up the use of such ore, I found the seru weapons and Yttrium Steel sheets.

My question is why would Yttrium Steel Sheets have a trivial of 335 when the Yttrium weapons have trivials under 200?

Also - Is the Yttrium used for something else besides the Vah Shir Masters armor?

To the first, based on other trivial levels, I would hazard a guess that the reasoning for the higher trivial on the sheets to limit the amount introduced into the world, but still allow people to craft the weapons once they were able to acquire a sheet.

To the second, yttrium is also used in Gnomish, Halfling, High-Elf, and Woodelf cultural armors.

      Weapons

Yttrium makes weapons capable of damaging Lord Seru. This was the original purpose of Yttrium.

The weapons themselves are no drop. It would be unreasonable to ask a raid to all become master smiths to raid a mob. So they instead made a tradeable sub-combine require the high smithing skill.

Emp weapons do something similiar if I remember correctly.

Emp weapons are a no-drop green shard and a droppable shissar weapon in a forge. They're even nice enough to put a forge near where you farm for the shards. =)

Thanks guys for the quick reply! I didn't realize the Ytrrium is used in cultural armor as well.

Yttrium ore is not a viable skillup path however if your race doesn't use it for cultural armor. Making yttrium sheets requires 4 more items plus high brewing skill and Fungoid Sap is rare as hen's teeth. I figure I spent close to 20 hours on this sap alone and got only 3 total. I did make over 20k points worth of tribute junk for my tribute master to chew on.
