Velium Inlaid Maul Head

The current recipe for the Velium Inlaid Maul Head (63677) is:

Large Head Mold, Sheet of Aligned Steel, Shimmering Nihilite Large Head Kit, Velium Large Head Kit

However, a similarly named Velium Inlaid Warhammer Head (63735) uses:

Sheet of Shimmering Steel, Shimmering Nihilite Large Head Kit, Velium Large Head Kit, Warhammer Head Mold

Has anyone had success utilizing shimmering steel in place of the aligned steel for the Maul listed above? For RP reasons, I'm attempting to make a very nice 2HB weapon for a friend, and it seems the progression of this weapon hasn't been fully investigated. Before I invest the coin, I was hoping a few intrepid tradeskillers might have performed this combine.

I've found some shimmering ore on a vendor - hallelujah for PoK crashes - and will be trying this as soon as I find some shimmering nihilite if nobody beats me to it.

To be honest, I rather doubt it will work.

Aligned Ore is for one type of weapon, and Shimmering Aligned Ore is for another. This apparently was done so there would be some variety - you weren't making every weapon a Short Sword, the ones with the SAO are Long Swords. Same concept for the 2hb's.
