Large brick of High Quality Ore ...

I have heard rumors that some weapons can be broken down to create these bricks ... can anyone confirm or deny this ?

And if I resort to buying these in the bazaar whats a reasonable price per large brick ?

Large bricks of HQ ore can be bought in several locations in Norrath and the Bazzar. Cost is under 20pp from a merchant.

Fine steel weapons can be combined with a water flask in a forge and you get a small brick of HQ ore (sometimes also a small piece, depending on the weapon). Combine three small bricks and a water in forge and get a large brick.

yes, fine steel weapons , when put in a forge with a flask of water is converyted into a small brick. then stick 3 small bricks and a flask of water to get your large brick.


some weapons will give ya a small brick and a piece.(moslty the swords).


then ya combine the Large brick with flask of water and file and whalla, HQ ring, ready to make ornate chain with, just add pattern, flask of water, bar of metal (silver/electruim/gold/platnum), and smithing hammer (returned on succes or failure). Ofcourse some things require more than 1 ring

The sad thing is that 3 FS weapons = approximately 18pp to vendors assuming NO failures at all it will be only slightly less expensive to make your own HQ ore than to buy it, however, throw the occational failure into the mix and buying the bricks from merchants ends up making a lot more sence. Plus the act that you have to lug bags of FS weapons to the nearest forge just to get a few bricks.

If only HQ ore wasn't in such limited quantities.

Aye, I think the breaking down of the HQ ore is less a "cheap way to get ore", and more of yet another way to acquire the limited supply stuff. So you can farm the HQ ore directly, you can farm the unrefined ore and quest it to buy the HQ ore, or you can farm the FS and smith it for the ore.

Tons of Unrefined ore

HHK vendors lately on Quellious have had massive stocks of Unrefined so restocking shouldn't be a problem. I even did the quest a few times for a small profit.
