  • smithing past 300 ?

ok try not to laugh to hard at me only been playing 9 months, I just looked at my skills tab and just noticed that 300 is the limit on smithing? is there anyway to get your unmodified skill past 300? or is that it? Also if 300 is the limit how do you guys know what is the trivial skill for all the items 300+?

Yes, 300 is the skill limit for Smithing (and all other Tradeskills).

No, there is no way to get your unmodified skill past 300. But you can get items (like the Tradeskill Trophies) which can modify your skill by up to 15%... thus, a modified skill of 345.

The UI tells us the trivial for any recipie we "learn" in the game. Thus, while my Paladin has "learned" the GM Wayguard Helm recipie (and now can see the trivial for it), she has not "learned" (i.e. succeeded once) the GM Wayguard Breastplate recipie. Therefore, it doesn't show up in my UI and my character doesn't "know" the trivial for it... though I do, since I can look it up here.
