Post 222 - Wood Elves

I've recently gotten back into TS's and am interested in getting to GM Smithing.

As a Wood Elf - I've completed my Expert and Master's DoN quests so far, and have farmed quite a lot of Yttrium while hunting the Deep.

I'm almost done with Velium bits - which will put me around 220ish.

From there - am I seeing this correct that Yttrium combines - Masters Wirewood - will take me the rest of the way to 300 ?

Is this feasible or even the best route ? Reason being a lot of folks think I am high end smithing (275+) which I'm not..yet.

(compare this to Shadowscream I guess is my only other hope)

Wood elven master's cultural is a viable route from where you are to 300. You can get to 290 with 1 yttrium per combine (bracer then gloves then sleeves from lowest trivial up I think), then it'll take 3 yttrium per combine to get to 300 with legs and BP.

You might want to do the Aid Grimel BP repeatedly after enchanted velium bits or consider Shadowscream for a change of pace, but with the skill-up bonus for cultural armor, it's probably your fastest path.

Oh, be sure to camp the shrink wand while you're in there, it's at the north camp. The south camp has a named mob that can sometimes drop a haste belt that sells for good plat in the Bazaar.
