  • Looking for a fast track to 300 Smithing.

Ok, I know there a LOT of different ways to get to 300 skill but I'm looking for a way to get there without farming for months just for 100 or 200 combines and then farming all over again.

The easiest way I could find is make the Inferno sceptres that trivial at 304, and thats great and all, but it costs just under 2626pp per combine and they don't sell back to venders. Also they very rarely sell at all in the bazaar so the payback on them is just about nil. (had 4 for sale for 4 months and didn't sell any of them even at cost)

Are there any easier or at least cheaper ways to go that are also faster than endless forming?

Oh and current skill is at 220 with 1 smithing AA, salvage3 and no tradeskill mod items. Will be getting the trophy soon but for now nothing but a str buffable to 435.

See Secone's Guide v3.0 for these kinds of questions....

Mistletoe Cutting Sickle is completely vendorable, and relatively cheap. Obviously you will fail a lot but it is a big amount cheaper than the 2626pp you quote, about 9 combines for that price and they tribute well and sell okay in the baz to help reduce the cost.

The only hard part is finding someone to imbue emeralds for ya, but more than one race/class can do it.

    Enjoy.
I call for the elimination of EQ levels 1-50.

yeah, that's pretty much the only choice if you don't want to farm. MCS FTW, KTHX

personally, i'm poorer, so i'm taking the shadowscream route.

What do half elves use for master armor? That's often a good option.

Resale on sickles is meh, but they tribute well, cap you, your friends, and your guild. Wish they stacked though = /

Stackable MCS would rock, yes. However, they're not throwing weapons (the only weapons which do stack) so I'd not expect that to happen any time soon.

Any chance the Blessed Hilts, Pommels, and Blades could be made to stack instead?

He was asking for a fast track to 300 smithing. MCS does not qualify. While everything is store bought nearly and/or player made. It is not fast nor is it easy by any means whats so ever.
Assuming you have only 1 character and 1 account. You will need to create 7 more characters just to hold all the stickles and sub-combine items as only a few of the sub-combines stack.

If you know how to start the war in HS Moore (however it is spelled) making shadowscream stuff will not only save you a few sky scrapers of platinum, but does not take all that much time. The no-drop stuff drops quite a bit and is stackable. Farm 5 stacks of each one, should only take you 5 days time if you know what your doing easily, but if you dont know how to make one side win in the war, then yes. Farming them can take vastly longer.
If you hard pressed now to farm the swirling shadows parts. They are readily bazaar buyable in almost all servers 10-50 plat each. You will be needing a lot of them too. But still costs less then most gems for MCS.

Fast track. There is no fast way to 300, you can either buy all the stuff and log in/out all the time (or heaven forbid... you sell the MCS to vendors to save that time) and you will soon learn why it is not fast. However it is a no-brainer and does not require farming green cons.

I know wood elves use yttrium ore for cultural smithing. Not certain about half elves as I never played one, but if you can use that, that is a very fast route to 300 smithing too, and you can get a few AA's while farming the stuff and some very nice trib items from zone. At the very least you can farm a few things to make yttrium sheets instead, they trivial at 335 and most stuff is easy farmed or bought in the bazaar also.

In either case, welcome to the slow world of smithing. There is no fast way to 300.

Aspiring to become the first 300 Drakkin Smith/Tailorer on Tunare. And succeeded
Making GM smithed/tailored armor on Tunare for very reasonable rates on the following races, Drakkin both smithed and tailored, HIE, both smithed and tailored (only smithing 1, but salvage 3), Human, tailoring only ATM, Wood Elf, any combine, master artisan. Assuming money is no object, it's far faster to do MCS than SS. You could probably do 100 combines a day on MCS. Space is always an issue, but not as much now that we have 34 container slots (24 in the bank + 8 on the character + 2 shared.)

Master Armor Smithing Materials and Races:

Yttrium (easiest, mostly from The Deep)
                    Halfling
                    Gnome
                    Vah Shir
                    High Elf
                    Wood Elf

Pile of Gravel (not so easy, but not yet rough, I go to The Hole)
                    Dwarf
                    Human
                    Barbarian
                    Ogre

Midnight Stone (Ugh, Plane of Nightmares - my buyer takes care of this one)
                    Erudite
                    Dark Elf

Great Reptile Tooth (Never seen one, they dont exist, move along, good luck)
                    Half Elf
                    Troll
                    Iksar
                    Froglok

My most common skill path ATM with the toons I'm skilling up to make cultural for guild/sale has been:
                    Metal Bits (18)
File (21 - wanted one to keep anyway)
                    Large Lanterns (68)
                    Embroidering Needle (122)
                    Cultural Sewing kits (162)
                    Enchanted Velium Bits (222)
After that depends on what I need for cultural and what I care to spend my time farming.

well as for the reptile tooth generally when i go slaughtering for the nightmare silk for tailoring(dark elf) i kill a few of them and generally end up with at least one. In fact with the fact that the person i saved them for no longer plays i have one rotting in my old guilds bank(can still get it with an alt).
