  • Problem with LDoN Smithing?

Okay... so I finally decided that it's time for my Paladin to work on her Smithing, since it's very unlikely I'll ever find the Half Elf who made the pieces of GM armour I've got right now.

I'd been collecting LDoN Temper stuff for awhile, since it's a nice bridge between Fine Plate & EVBs.

I did some Fine Plate Helms, then re-checked the recipies for LDoN plate. Oddly, the recipie pages showed MQ Folded Sheets being needed... and yet, I recall (and the recipie page shows) that HQ Rings are needed for LDoN Chain. I also thought I recalled (from when my Cleric made this stuff), that the recipie requires Full Plate molds.

I have since tried various combinations of MQ Folded Sheets, HQ Folded Sheets, Plate Molds & Full Plate Molds... with water & without water... all with no luck. I even ran to Ak'Anon (since I couldn't find the dranned Forge in Freeport) and tried the forge there, just in case it was the Tanaan Forge that was the problem. I can't even call up the LDoN Chain recipies (that I made with my Paladin in the past), because I didn't "learn" them with the new UI.

Can anyone confirm the proper recipie for any LDoN Plate item? I've got more than 300 Tempers waiting for me to use 'em.

I don't understand your question? If you can't remember a recipe, just look it up... that's what this site is for.

I just made a full set of Ldon Plate for my daughter's cleric as her Newbie armor (she's just starting to play EQ). The recipes were all correct.

Next time I'll take a screen shot.

What I'm saying is, I did follow the recipie exactly. Guess I'll try it again.

Don't mind me, just early senility setting in...

Are you also adding the Water Flask as well as the specific Temper?

With how easy Velium is to farm in Crystal Caverns (and all the other vendor-dumpable loot to help offset plat costs) I didn't think that there was a bridge needed from 165 to EVB's.

Stuff drops even more in Velks, but CC works just as well too.

Bring the tools and supplies needed to convert the velium weapons and large velium bricks and such with you and it'll go just fine. Or just have them in the bank. There is, after all, a banker down in the bottom of Crystal Caverns, and several forges, and several merchants. Look for them in the little town known as Froststone where the lost Coldain Dwarves live.

I prefer CC, because of the bank, forge, vendors, and the additional coinage from both direct loot and the sales of gems and other junk looted down ther, to help offset the scroll and temper costs.

Also, CC is a lot easier, as the orcs are a much lower level than the spiders in Velks.

I'd have to try spending 5+ hour sessions in both places, comparing how much I got - I'm not altogether convinced that Velks is a better place for velium.

My preference is imploding Tizmaks. I was never fond of trying to farm Velks Lab for Velium, and CC has always been busy.
