As far as I have seen in no uncertain terms, I have not read anything that lead me to 100% believe that it would change.

However, these questions better suited for EQlives boards as one of the rules of these boards is not to directly ask questions to Devs.

well.. if those are my ONLY choices then, C and C.

That is why I made the statement with disclaimers... because it is in the middle.

I have not yet changed any smithing trivials. At this late a date that means it is very unlikely to happen before PoR releases. But I cannot absolutely 100% guarantee you that there will not be a change. That is the fact of the way it is.

I do not see it happening that there will be any changes to smithing trivials for PoR. I cannot guarantee that there will not possibly be data corruption which would lead to a temporary change. I cannot guarantee that someone above me gets a bug in their shorts and demands I make changes immediately so that they are in when PoR releases.

You will not get a "guarantee" statement on the trivial level of smithing for PoR until the actual day of PoR release, and then not until after the servers are open.

You will get my statement that it is very very unlikely to happen. But if you demand something that fits in that specific multiple choice, then you get the answer of C.

Question number two is definitely a C.

If you guys really ONLY want absolute answers to question I cannot give absolute answers to, then I wills top answering them... but I really thought you guys liked that I communicated. If you really want it to be no communication, then so be it.

This is not me "Throwing a tantrum" it just seems that you guys do not want the answers I can give. If giving you the answers I can give you is worse than giving you no answers... so be it and I will give you no answers.

I think most peope are very happy with your communication and understand the constraints that you work under. I hope this thread does not lead to less communication. Thanks for your time, Ngreth.

I've been playing EQ and lurking in these forums for years. So, for my first post: I appreciate the communication Ngreth. Thank you.

It sounds like if I don't want to end up in the same position I was with Tailoring, I better use up the 3 mules + bank worth of Sickle Blades, Hilts and Pommels before the expansion.

What day is the expansion being released anyway?

I honestly have no problems with shadowscream and mistoe cutting sickles getting nerfed, IF and ONLY if master (and maybe grandmaster componets) for smithing are readjusted so they drop more frequently. An example would be the piles of gravel. Another idea would be to add more smithing recipes with innate % of smithing skill-up. And I think you know that "I" apperciate your communication Ngreth.

Please don't allow a few bitchy people to ruin the communication that is appreciated by the rest of us. It is impossible to please everyone, but you are doing a bang-up job with what is available.

                    Communication = GOOD!

Please continue with your excellent work, Ngreth. you have gotten commendations through /feedback from people i have spoken with personally, whether those /feedback comments really fall into the /null round file, i don't know, but please know there are many more folks who quietly jump up and down excitedly about what you are allowed to say, vs the vocal minority who can find nothing better to do with their time than complain.

in fact, yours and Maddoc's conversation over on the Crucible, in one single thread, has revitalized at least one player's interest in all aspects of EQ. Some of us are hoping to see MORE devs like you and Maddoc!

i stand to lose a lot if mistletoe sickles are changed before the patch as i won't have time to process everything i have for making them... however, we WILL have time to process the alchemy stuff we've collected so it's all good. if we can't get to the smithing, then that's just some incentive for someone else to work on their smithing =)

Well anyhow, I pretty much covers it. If i can paraphrase maybe?

You personally have no plans to make changes right now. You do not know of plans to change this in the immediately future. That is not to say someone else may in the future tell you that you have plans to make the change. Am I correct?

That said could you take a suggestion back to SOE for us:

                      1. Don't fool with this anymore unless they are going to significantly improve armor component drops for cultural and other armors(CT/OOW). Personally the shadowscream trivial is something that's broke and never needs fixing. But an alternative idea might be...

                      2. As a positive suggestion, LDON armor is approximately the same as Shadowscream but with a lower trivial. How about make a higher level LDON armor set with a trivial equal/better then Shadowscream and equivalent to the old cultural armors (with hp/mana). Let say something in line with Freeport Human armors.

Why? LDON has farmable tempers. So with effort you can create enough tempers to make some armor at a price that someone might actually use or purchase. LDON doesn't get played much now because people got tired of it and the experience is kind of very suck. It might encourage people to go back and use the unused expansion.

And finally, this would provide everyone and alternate skill up path where they can do experience and not spend other then endless hours in a green zone killing stuff.

I won't comment on the rest of this thread, but history has shown that no tradeskill component whatsoever will make a non-negligible number of people go back to grouping in content that has a sub-par exp/difficulty ratio. Sure you may get the odd group of friends/guildmates but never pickup group action.

See Coarse Spider Silk... slightly worse exp and crystal reward in Lavaspinner and slightly too high difficulty (too high for the average pickup group I mean)in The Nest and the stuff practically doesn't exist.

OMG, please, please do not add any more tradeskill drops that force you to waste 2-5 other people's time to go get. It is beyond me why that hasn't been changed yet ... unless it's a quest/task loot it oughta be in a normal zone.

It's already impossible to get help trying to find the almost non-existant coarse spider silks (took me a month to find 2 .. yes TWO .. silks to make my GM arms).

I can only imagine the horror of being forced to do countless LDoN missions (which give useless rewards and crappy xp for most of us) just to dig up some other tradeskill supply.

Keep em in normal zones. No more instanced hassles.
