These are the little green guys that drop Fetid Slime in Plane of Nightmare. I'm going to gather a few friends and try hunting some of them, as I am not having luck vendor-mining the slime.

I'm thinking that we could camp the dock and have someone with lev on run across the river and pull them.

Has anyone else camped these critters? Is there a better strategy that I am missing?

I've not yet been able to hunt the planes yet, but if you could use a monk to help pull, let me know. I'm still lingering at 56, since I'm focusing on getting to 240+ smithing, while helping my wife hit 200+ tailoring, so I've no idea if I'd get creamed too fast while pulling. But I can bring along a 57 druid (Emmoney) most nights.

      fishmen!

You can also pull them up to the raven/tree area simply by tagging them with a spell then backing up. That'll pull them up-top to you. So long as you harmony/break the few area with multiples, it's pretty simply and easy to clear the entire camp and pull them up the cliff. Be warned, however, these mobs can be deceptively difficult...they're druids! They cast Winged Death and other druid spells...and are sow'ed, so very difficult to escape from if you don't root them/snare them if things to awry.

      Good luck!

If you go across the creek with invis/levi, the wall to the left is a pretty good spot. I haven't specifically gone there after these guys, but thats a decent spot with few adds. Hobgoblins to pull too.

Seems to be fewer adds there than anyplace else in that area.

Just a quick note. The harmony and lull lines have been seriously screwed up by VI once again. Most people are aware that the duration of both lines has been dropped to seven ticks. What many people are unaware of is that a large number of zones in the game appear to have been tweaked in the last patch so that the two spell lines simply do not work at all in those zones. There is a rather noisy thread about this over at Paladins of Norrath.
You should be able to tell if this is happening, though, as you'll get a message about the spell not working on whatever mobs you try to lull/harmony.
I don't know if PoN falls into this category, but thought it was worth a warning.

There's a rock on the top of the cliff just down from the hobgoblin area. A couple blood ravens like to hang out there. If you can lull the two just off the cliff from that spot it's a great place to start.

We worked the whole spawn last night using my Pacification. I didn't notice a reduced duration, and was often able to literally stand on top of the slug without causing aggro.

Since they're druids, a cleric with MoK is really nice.

              Ranger/Druid Hybrid

I find pulling to docks with lev/soe works best. An average group can probably keep the 2 sets of 3 slarghilugs on the opposite side of the river clear. They stand far enough apart to be pulled singly for the most part. Be careful that they don't get trapped under the dock though, as fighting them down there is a pain.

They appear to be level 53(always) rangers with access to druid spells. I know they cast Calefaction (59 for rangers) and Winged Death (not available to rangers) but do not dispel mezzed buddies(which a druid mob would do) Also, when charmed, /pet report health shows Force of Nature and Skin like Steel, which is a sure sign of them being rangers.

You will also get those 9(+2)/19 spears rarely. Not a bad poker. Save the various frog parts to make Slarghilug poppers if you are a baker. yummy!

EDIT Oops forgot to mention, we tried MoK on them but they were still DSed. Probably overwrites the pure DS but not the DS from Force of Nature or ***coat or both. I assume MoK lowered the DS damage overall though

Players are still trying to figure out what is going on with the various lull type spells. Latest guesses are that its somehow tied to player level, with possibly players being too high of a level to cast the various spells. There have been reports of players at one level being able to use a lull type spell on a certain mob, and players of a higher leve being unable to use the exact same spell on the exact same mob. And note that this goes for ALL of the lull spells. Just because its the highest level spell in the line that your class gets doesn't mean you'll be able to use it.
In short, no one is quite certain what is going on, but it looks like a doozy of a bug. At least you'll know before you pull that your spell didn't work.

I found out the hard way in Lower Guk that my Rest the Dead spell had been "adjusted": I went in to harmony the Ghoul Lord and his guards, and got the message "Your target looks unaffected". 2+ weeks ago, I had lulled them just fine...

For the curious, here's a link to the thread over at Paladins of Norrath:

                    http://pub148.ezboard.com/fpaladinsofnorrathgeneral.showMessage?topicID=1756 5.topic

The thread is six pages long right now, and may very well get longer. Early on, it was thought that the spells were working in some zones, and not in others. Players were getting very upset when they discovered that they couldn't even lull a moss snake (used for testing purposes to figure out what was going on with the spell line). Current thinking right now is that it *might* be a combination of two different things.

First is that it has something to do with the agro radius of the creature. If the lull line would 'reduce' the agro radius of the creature to a range greater than the range at which the creature would normally agro on the caster (for example, a high level caster and a low level mob), then the spell won't stick. Not a problem for a high level player, admittedly - unless he or she is trying to help out low level players.
Second is that someone might have screwed up the spells so that the part of the spell that checks mob level checks player level instead - meaning that Pacify (I think that's the one that's only supposed to affect mobs up to level 55) won't work if cast by a player over level 55.

Its important to note, however, that this is still all in the process of being figured out. All of the above is speculation, although its 'educated' speculation. Read the thread for more details.

I followed Gabantik's advice and pulled them from the docks. The docks are a frequently camped spot on our server, usually to hunt the crocs and wraiths. I happened to be pulling anyway, and asked for a levitate. That let me pull the occasionally slug. The group wasn't thrilled with this, but we killed them easily enough and it didn't slow down anyone else's experience.

Also, I am a firm believer in the screwed up level limit theory for the lull line. That theory states that the limits of what mobs the spell should work on have been applied to who can cast if effectively. For example, pacify works on mobs up to 55 (supposedly). My 59 Paladin gets the "Your spell did not take hold" message". However, my 53 Enchanter can then pacify the same mob that my Paladin could not. Neither of them could get Lull or Calm to work on anything. Very frustrating, and I hope they fix it.

                        Sinu, what's your Charisma?

I know for a fact that the rest the dead series does work on *some* mobs in LGuk...my 49 necro was duo'ing the Frenzy/Sent camp and using it to break Sentinel. (necro's rule LGuk, no question) I'm curious if it's a product of charsima, or maybe just that the lord is flagged immune.

VI has officially stated that charisma does affect what happens with lull type spells - but only if the spell is resisted. In that case, the mob makes a check against the caster's charisma, and if the caster wins, then the mob doesn't agro.
This is not what is occuring here.

We've figured it out on Paladins of Norrath. The Lull/Pacify lines are broken because they are tied to player level instead of mob level. For ex, Pacify is set for 1/55. As soon as we ding 56, we can't CAST the spell. What's funny tho, is that because of this bug, a level 55 Paladin can lull/pacify ANY mob!
