  • Tunare smithing and PoG

What kind of problems, if any, will a Tunare High Elf cleric smith run into if she were to fight in a PoG clearing and help with a Tunare kill?

What can be done to repair this faction if needed and how long would it take?

The following people will HATE you. KOS, Dead.

Your home town guild. High Elf Cleric.
    Wood Elf Druids
    Wood Elf Rangers
Wood Elf Town Guard (I think....)

Pretty much your own guild, and most if not all of Kelethin.

And I have heard that some of the factions are POSSIBLE to repair, but not easy. I have heard that the High Elf Clerics are VERY hard to come back from.

I fought in PoG about a week ago with guild...

Took about 15 kills to go from indifferent to 'Your faction could not possibly get any worse' with all 4.

So be very careful, you will lose faction extremely fast. We had one guy there non KOS buffing between battles... you might be able to do something similar or gate out before the kill if you grab agro by mistake. With a 30 minute timer you should be able to get back in time on the bigger mobs.

That was with my monk... but I was also a bit curious as to how difficult it will be to get ports.

      Exact factions:

      Clerics of Tunare
      Faydark's Champions
      Servants of Tunare
      Soldiers of Tunare

        Soldiers of Tunare

My understanding it that all those factions with the exception of Servants of Tunare (which if my information is correct only exists in PoG itself) are fixable. Time consuming, but repairable.

Once you get to be KOS with clerics of tunare fixing faction would be very difficult. Before that you can turn in bone chips for faction, afterward? I'm realy not sure what you could do.
Tailoring, why did I ever start tailoring? *sob*

Muffins in Freeport (for Pandos) fix all but the PoG faction itself if memory serves. I believe the only things on servants are the plane itself, and the satyr-type thingies outside the PoG porter.

It really shouldn't even affect you, my enchanter is KoS to these factions, and she enchants all day long walking back and forth between bank and metal seller. No one ever aggros to her.

While bottoming your faction in PoG does not effect your smithing in any way (if you stay away from the cleric guild) but I would advise against it for one single reason.
                FAITHSTONE.
You will never ever be able to use your faithstone to gate back to your guild.
Most clerics I know highly value their faithstones since they can bind close to the battle (in case of a wipe) and at the end of the hunt they can faithstone back to the relative vicinity of a PoK book / civilization / spot where manastone works.

I agree with Sumamael on the Faithstone issue. That thing totally rocks, and helps alot on the rare occasions someone asks me to make armor(sure sir I can be in Felwithe in 30 seconds).

As for PoG raids. I have done about a dozen of the things in my history as a Cleric of Tunare. Every time, I acted as a member of "Team Tunare" a small group of healers, buffers, trackers, cheerleaders; who helped keep the raid going by doing spot heals between fights and recasting buffs as they wore off. It's Boring work, but it helped the guild and gave me a shot at some stability armor. It is VERY easy to screw up and take a faction hit, learn to love gates and /q while your there, also as a side note if you are going to /q and you have an extra second, root yourself first. Once I had a lovely experience where after I went LD my cleric went around for 5 minutes trying to kick everythings butt in the zone. According to the people watching it, it was like my cleric became the biggest bad@#$ in the game all the sudden, they had to atone me like 15 times before I finally backed off the tree they were killing and the game dropped my char.

Fixing faction with the factions in PoG is impossible, once you take the first two hits, and even before then can only be done by doing your class quests in the zone with some help from a freind a couple of hundred times(making it effectively impossible). If you plan on doing your class quests EVER, do them before raiding.

The other factions can be easily fixed if you are not KoS, by doing the various Bone Chips, and other such quests. As well as freeing the prisoners and killing in crushbone, or if you can do it, Killing the stuff in the Necro Guild in Neriak. It is a bit slow, but can be done one of those ways.

Once you are KOS the only "easy" way to fix them is to use a workaround while doing the Pandos Muffin Quest. You will need a friend that can cast Invis, prefferably one that has a quick cast and low mana cost(Bards work best for this in my experience). Go to WFP and get as many muffins as you can buy, then head to Pandos, and see if you can get close enough to him to open a trade window without him aggroing. If you can't get close enough, you will need to harmony him until his aggro range drops to zero, allowing you to get closer. When you can, open the trade window and drop 4 stacks of 4 muffins into the slots. Before you hit give, have your friend invis you. Once the invis hits, con him to make sure your standing has switched to indiff, then hit give. You should get 16 small faction hits to everything there(iirc) plus another. It will take HOURS to get to a Non-KOS state, but once at least dubious, you should be able to switch to doing The bone-chips and other such quests a little easier.

As long as you stay away from cleric guild you'll be okay. Faithstone isn't a problem either. I have seen clerics KOS from PoG using faithstone just DA really fast once zoned and run to zone.

                      One question...

If my monk ever wants to fix faction can I just sneak and do turn-ins at indifferent for bone chips?

Killing those wolves was extremely fun, so I probably wont be fixing it soon, hehe, but just in case.

From personal experience I can tell you fixing faction once you have done PoG anything STINKS!
Yes, it is possible to move about Felewithe while being KoS to Tunare and her lil ole minions. BUT, I found that for myself, even going into the bank drew agro from the clerics in their building. And we won't even talk about the paladins. Not to mention that Ellia The Pure occassionally moves from her post by the water to roam into odd regions of Felewithe.
I will personally never go to PoG again!
If you wish to go and want to fix your faction you can go to <A HREF=http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=89><color=9999FF>Allakhazams</color></A> and start with the batwing quest.
Once you have raised your faction sufficiently to not be KoS to Panados in West Freeport you can go back to <A HREF=http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=611><color=9999FF>Allakhazams</color></A> and learn how to go about doing that by yourself with no help.
If you have problems moving through Felewithe before you do the batwing quest, invisibility potions can be vendor purchased at several places. (I'm not sure of exact vendors). Or you can as was suggested in another post, zone in, DA/DB up and run to the zone for Southern Felewithe.
Good luck no matter what you decide, hope that it turns out well for you!

                          FaithStone Tip for KoS Tunarians

I am KoS and smith in Felwithe all the time. I have yet to have a problem.

As for the Faithstone issue. I use mine all the time. I can only speak for level 60 and above, because that is when I got mine, however if you just hold down the key to back up when you land, you back up to the door and nothing aggroes. I have also never gotten aggro from the bank or the brew barrel at 60 or above. Hope this helps.

                            Thanks for all the replies.

Was just heading to a PoG raid with my monk at the time and I wanted to find out how bad it would be for my wife's Tunare Cleric if she were to come.

She didnt, heh. After reading the first response she just shook her head and went and farmed some stuff. She'd rather miss out on a raid like that then hose all those factions.

I took one faction hit in PoG and was immediately KOS to clerics. I Faitestoned to felwithe and was attack by my guild master. I thoguht I was alright seeing as it was only one faction hit. However I hear that you have a few seconds for the faction to load when you zone in so you can run out of aggro range before the guildmaster attacks.
