The war getting stuck isn't the biggest of your problems. Whenever the war is stuck just go farm swirling shadows :-P

Can someone link me to a site that describe how the war in Hollowshade Moor works? Or how exactly to either trigger it (if that's it), or what to kill exactly to get the sides to switch?

I got truckloads of shrieking substances! But can't get owlbears to take over...

Its all about the shaman DS potion. Drink, aggro a bunch, heal and swing at random.

Soon you have a pile of dead beasties.

Yes the shaman DS potion method works well.

Funny how a 33 pt DS chews green mobs up (33 pts at level 65, that is).
Hard part is me standing there trying to cast torpor on myself with 30 or more mobs beating on me.

Whats real annoying is that some owlbears get to 50 percent health and start to run or wander back to spawn point. /boggle

Might give my level 58 wolf pet a sword of the skyfire so he can AE them

Or PL my warrior on them as DS damage does not count towards the kill and all he has to do is hit each one once before they die.

Wailing substance drop rate seemed to suck (but I only started last night).
All this pharming is gonna keel me but it will rock to make Barb Cultural one day! $$

Personally i have found that i can farm as quickly with my paladin as with my mage mostly because of the auto riposete<sp?>
at any rate with a high dmg 2hander and the old pally haste i can munch down 12-25 at a time and and suffer little to no dmg sure an AE might make it faster but then there is the whole aggroing that many w/o getting the crapped kicked outta my mage because these just wont aggro on him for the hell of it...so i have to walk around and try to slap them to get a nice sized train going and my pet must be far away or he runs up and steps on them slowing it down 8(

The most frustrating part of this is waiting for the Owlbears to win the South Islands and farming in PC is really slow. Finally they had the south islands and I was ready for wailing substances since I had enough of the other. Only took about 2 hours to get a backpack full.

I find this most effective with Cleric, just have my wife's Druid cast SoW on me and then I'm off training all the islands. I have to make sure I've buffed myself up since they stun me more (sonic wolves are easy). Then once I have about 30 mobs on me I pull them to an open spot and cast my AE. In one hit just about everything dies give or take 1 or 2 mobs. We made a game of it the other day my friends were trying to train me with as many mobs as possible, the biggest number so far as been 58 train all dead with one shot.
