  • 222 now what?

I've seen the posts reguarding different routes go after this. How much plat do u think it would cost to go from 222-300 doing sickles?

  • #2
    roughly..

it would cost 7k-8k (depends if you do or buy pre-combine items) per 20 attempts.

At max STR you should avg (go go RNG) 1 skill up per 20 attempts.

    So 7k x 78 = 546k
    Thats a really rough estimate.

Does Strength effect ur skillup ratio i thought it was Wisdom or Int? I thought Strenght only factors into if u Succeed at making an item.

Not getting into the one, you would need to check out the sticky for skill up/success etc calculator. It's just to long winded to explain.

Im not trying to start an argument over who is right or wrong. Just coming here for advice so if i can get my Str to 400 with Wunshi and my wisdom to only 315 do i go Strength or Wisdom. What would u do Mennssia?

Thing I did for smithing was use the guild hall.
have Wunshi + Diakui + FA + shammy aa Ancestral Aid.
With planar aa it would put your STR high.
Smithing is STR or INT or WIS (whatever is higher).

By using the guildhall you lock those buffs in. Thing is you now need a mule or Alt to do the racing round.

            Sickles is all about preparation.
            1) make all the pre-combines
            2) place molds on guildhall merchants
            3) have a mule or 3 empty to take the sickles you make
            4) Have a mule/alt in PoK buying gems ( these are too expensive to resell to GH merchant
            5) have at least 7 empty bags on you apart from hammer/food/drink
Eg.. will give you room for 20 of each molds, 3 stacks of dust, 3 stacks CE, 3 stacks of Tempers, 3 stacks of sheets, 1 stack of each gem (Ruby/emerald/sapphire).

I do wish you all the best with your smithing.

I used to make a corpse when smithing and then buying 8 deluxe toolboxes

That way i had 8 clear backpacks to play around with

              Speeded subcombines up too

Smithing uses your highest stat between int, wis, and str to determine its skillup rate. If you can get your strength 85 points higher than your wisdom you will have a significantly increased chance of gaining skill.

Incidently, due to some math that I won't go into in this thread, having more than 400 strength will have no additional benefits for smithing. You can't improve beyond that.

When close but not over that 400 mark in str or any other "key" stat, don't forget you may have tribute over cap and up to +10 of that stat. Great to use in a pinch to help you get over your current cap.

                    Why Mistletoe Cutting Sickles?

Looking at the recipe it still seems they include quite a bit of farming, and require pottery.. Why, specifically are mistletoe cutting sickles the typical path to 300? Are any of the sub components vendor purchasable?

Mistle toe cutting sickles generally considered a skill up path because you can pretty much do them with only one visit outside of PoK plus getting a tunare priest to imbue emeralds. Its relatively easy and requires no farming as such.
Still costs alot and takes many clicks and much time. And you;ll get a monster load of tribute out of it

At 222, you have several other alternatives to the MCSs. Cheapest among them is the Cleansed Breastplate. If you've completed your Bertox flag, this can be done for something around 1p per attempt. That will get you to 227. After that, you can always go farm hollowshade and make shadowscream stuff.

But, in the end, no matter how you look at it, it's gonna be yukky.

Sigh , am at this stage myself. I REALLY wish there was an alternate recipe to work on, that did not require either endless farming of green mobs or half dozen non-stacking subcombines. Have been doing the GoD weapon's myself as i collec the drop items slooooowwwwwlllyyyy. Even for that i need my wifes help for the jewlery subcombines..gaaaaaaaa

I am at 230 myself and I really didnt want to go to 267 doing shadow scream but I think I will have to bear down and grind it to 267 doing those because the alternatives do not seem very cheap or fast.

Human cultural takes Blue diamond dust (bleh) and some fishing to boot, Tae ew
takes Blood thats a pita for the shields or a vial for the chain that costs 200pp plus 2 Tae ew bloods.

So I decided to get to 267 then do Tae ew chain or shields and sickles as well, going to be a long haul
