I was reading the Aid Grimel quest, and was wondering if you could do the cleansed breastplate to get from 222 to 227 in smithing? Is it possible to hail him multiple times to get multiple bps?

If you can gate, bind yourself at the top of library next to Grimmel. Get coth'er if you can't gate.
Get yourself levitated.
Try to keep the elevator at the bottom of the shaft.
Group up with a fiendly bard who's willing to just sit next to forge singing selos.
With this set up, I was doing a combine about every 30 seconds. Also, you don't need to wait till 222, you can start this at skill 220. The resulting breastplate is lore. I haven't tried any lore combines since they changed how they work, so you might have the added inconvience of destroying your BP after making it. Also, when I was doing them, the recipe was not learnable so it meant moving all the pieces into the forge by hand. I don't know if they're made it learnable or not since.-- Mewkus: 2100 dings on the server formerly known as Solusek Ro

I was surprised at how well the run from 222 to 227 went with this method. Perhaps the RNG was on my side, but it only took 40 combines for the 5 skill points.

You do need to destroy the BP after each combine - the UI now won't let you do the combine if you have a lore item in inventory already.
Went from 221 to 227 with only 34 combines. A guildie has done more than that with no skill-ups - so the same range of experiences as any other recipe I guess

its easy if you are a porter.
Bind at Grimmel, then when you cast port to POK, i dont think it reloads the zone.
From the portin spot its a short run to the forge... combine then gate.
I seem ot recal you dont even need to target Grimmel when you say the text to get another BP. So make a hotkey with the text.
Gate
Hotkey
Port
Run
Combine
rinse and... you know the rest.
