Do some recipes have a better chance at a skillup?

I am working on smithing , and I have chose the Tae Ew path between Hollowshade and 295.

I get skillups alot more when I am making the Tae Ew Shield versus the Tae Ew Chain Leggings. They both are trivial at 295.

I also see that Grandmaster armor chance for skillups were raised last month. I also read in places that trying new recipes have a higher chance.

Is there a innate chance for skillup on any recipe? And can some recipes have a higher chance of skillup than others?

If so, I think I will personally stick with the Tae Ew Shields.

Until the recently announced changes to tradeskill trivials, there were NO increased chance of skillups on ANY recipes. Devs have stated that DoN MAster and Grandmaster cultural recipes have been given a bonus chance to skillup, no other recipes have.

So, you are imagining things. But at least it's a pleasant daydream, so by all means, keep making shields =)

I've experienced the head bangingly frustrating skill up rate of 2/116 masters combines lately and 2/61 on Tae Ew boots on my lat 177 skill up attempts... I hate the RNG. That was a lot of Yttrium! I almost have enough to triv out the Tae Ew so I've decided not to tempt the RNG anymore and save all the rest of my yttrium for the 295 to 300 run.
