  • Xerkizh the Creator Strategy/Guide?

With my Blacksmithing at 273, unmodified, I'm ready to upgrade my Grandmaster Trophy's %5 for the Hammer of the Ironfrost's 15% (from Xerkizh the Creator in SSRA). No sense in only going halfway when every little bit helps ensure that successful combine!

Before I undertake the usual route of Google and then (insert favorite class sites here) for my searches, I thought I would ask here first. Do any of you have or know the location of a good strategy for Xerkizh the Creator in SSRA?

There are several in my guild that could benefit from liberating a few hammers from him. I would definitely love to learn the strategy and lead my guild to farming a couple of these. As always, any help is appreciated!

By far the best guide to getting around in Ssra is here:

    http://www.the-commune.com/jolo/Guid...sra_guide.html

Great maps, accurate info, and even details on most mobs.

XtC himself isn't too hard. With a beefy tank and a smart healer, he's probably 1-groupable. (I say probably because I don't know what caliber of friends you can call on. With a 12-13K tank and a comparably equipped cleric, plus a groupful of dps, he's definitely doable with one group.) Once you get to his area, pull the two snakes at the bottom of the ramp leading up to his platform, then charge XtC (he's perma rooted, so you can debuff him first.) So long as everyone stays on the platform and AWAY from the ramp, nothing in the room will aggro you, including the snake repops. It's likely to be a long fight, particularly since his AE reduces melees' ATK rating. Other than that, just keep your tank and cleric cured of the curse (I forget if the heal-reducing curse affects the tank or the healer), and whittle him down.

There is also a 15% pair of gloves that drops off of one of the blobs in VT. Only useable by melee though I belive not int casters.

You do realize that XtC drops 2 items from a loot table of nearly twenty and has a respawn period of days right?

My guild killed him dozens of times and I only ever saw the hammer drop once (and I didn't win it because at the time I was already at 250 smithing and it wouldn't have helped me any... argh!).

Also unless you're in a top end guild you'll probably need 3 tanks... one for MT, one for rampage, and one to tank the respawn you will get if you are engaging with low numbers.

You can see her wielding the hammer if she has it so it can save you some time on the farming.

Cleric is useless on XTC because of what she procs if you're dealing with limited number of people. Bring a shaman and just have spiritual serenity on all the time. Actually you should do that anyway.

Blob1 drops the 15% gloves. Its the first named on the way in there. So he can be gotten too quickly if you plant a Call of Hero Mage. But those gloves were a rare drop for us. We killed that mob for about 6 months and only saw them once.

The big difference being that a level 1 toon of any class can enter Ssra Temple and thoretically get teh hammer. VT is a pain to get keyed for and not all classes can use the gloves.

10 bucks says that unless you are very very lucky, you could key level 1 twinks for VT faster than you could farm hammers.

Course the drop rate on the gloves is not so hot either... *shrug*

I know this will not help everybody as it seems to be exclusive to classes that Vah Shir can play, and the races that can play them.

My reason for asking as that I have heard other stories of the lousy drop rates on the gloves and the hammer so I may go for this instead.

It dropped ~7 out of the 12ish times I went up there for earring quests back then. It's the large race thing to btw. Hence the Massive bit in the name. Some backstory about the NPC but I don't recall what it was.

I would say that it's drop rate is decent from my experience but we all know how that kinda thing goes.

It rotted more often than not due to the race restrictions.
