  • Humming Orbs - c'mon devs - PLEASE be reasonable.

I've plugged thru a fair bit of Shadowscream armour too date to up my smithing.

Got to the point with GoD and OoW quests and what not that alot of my bank is full so I have no room to offload my usually carried utility gear when tradeskilling.

Dev's - would it REALLY be game breaking to make 'humming orbs' stackable instead of a bulky pain in the butt that eats inventory space - it's compounded by them being no-drop so it's not like you can make a whole bunch and stick 'em on a mule.

    Good bashin' too yoo.

The orbs are not no-drop. Some of the components needed to make them are, but the orbs themselves aren't no-drop. So actually you CAN make a whole bunch and stick them on a mule.

Which isn't to say that I wouldn't love to see them go stackable, pita juggling orbs, molds, the hammer and anvil on top of stacks of rings, substances and shadows to grind out the combines for the stuff.

The problem with making Humming Orbs drop-able is... they have a cast-able effect on them.

Potions could be made stackable (in a way), because they are used up. The new potions are stackable, again because they go away when you use the effect.

I imagine that it would be very difficult to make Humming Orbs stack-able as they are now... you'd almost have to create a second item called a "used Humming Orb" that was also stack-able and usable in all the same recipies.

Are you not reading this thread?

Humming orbs are ALREADY tradeable and always have been.

I think she meant stackable, not droppable, particularly since the rest of her post discusses stackability.

              Yeah, meant stack-able.

              It was late, sue me.

So just ask the devs remove the effect and make them stack.

I don't think anyone would even notice it was gone. I used it once just to see what it did and then never bothered again.

If they want to make it seem right they should be no-drop and stackable, not the other way around anyway.

The lack of stackability with the new tradeskill UI never bothered me, since the substances + the metal rings all stack. Very easy to keep them in stackable form and then just pop out 10 to 20 or so with every 10 to 20 armor attempts (depending on bag space). The molds, as always, were the biggest pain to me.

Since this is one of those combines that is evidently slated to have the trivial lowered at some point in the not too distant future, I wouldn't count on having SoE even consider changing orbs to stackable.

Not that I can really understand why they're lowering it (rotten stats aside) ... I've done my share of Shadowscream, and still lack about 5 or 6 points to reach the current triv. The thought of doing more just makes me shudder, so I haven't rushed out to max it before they do.

Anyway, don't get your hopes up.

As a reminder, PLEASE DO NOT ADDRESS POSTS HERE TO THE DEVS or any other SOE employees! This is NOT an SOE board, nor are we any more than a player based interest board, so any attempt to contact them through us is useless. Sure, some employees may visit us now and then to read posts and/or comment, but if you wish to point out what you think are needed changes in-game to tradeskill items, please go to the appropriate forum on EverQuestLive.com and do it there.

I always used the effect on the Humming Orbs before I used 'em for Smithing.

I've considered going and farming up some more Essences, just for the nice DS.
