I hope SOE doesnt change their mind for next patch....I think I will spend this summer doing Tradeskills before SOE changes their mind.

Any word on Shadowscream? (I'd test myself, but stuck at work atm)

No idea on shadowscream, got so annoyed with doing the quest for the quest items, had no desire to micromanage some equally annoying war. sickles all the way hehe.

For the four millionth time, they already stated they wouldn't change em yet unless first on test.

Absor commented on this issue in the Tailoring thread, where folks were beginning to get bent out of shape. Please go read his comments there (in this thread - http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=22439) before you stress out further. Thanks! =)

Ok, not creating controversy or cry foul but one interesting observation to report. Before the patch, I tried out the Sickles for skill ups. I also made grandmaster level armors and symbols. Results:

                  (Before)
GM Armor 2 for 2 (BP and Legging)
GM Symbols 2 for 2 (BP and Legging)

25 combines of sickles = 4 skill ups and did not fail any of the sub combines

                  (After)

                  Did not try armor/symbol yet

20 combines of sickles = 0 skill ups and 3 failed Blessed Dust of Tunare, 1 failed pommel, 2 failed Mistletoe Temper.

Now, usually I chalk it up to RNG being fickle, specially the sickle combine. What made me notice was that I did 25 combines of sickle, BDoT and Mistletoe Tempers and did not fail any of the sub combines before. Not 1000s of combines but those alone would be 75 combines, enough to makes me think.

                  Possible conclusions:

                  1. RNG being finicky and I am just paranoid.
                  2. Some thing has changed in formula (highly unlikely)
                  3. My favorite conspiracy theory is that RNG increases chances of skill up and successful combination right before a major patch.

This was meant as a just pure speculation and fun. Nothing to be taken serious but .....

                    1. You are paranoid.
                    2. Not likely.
                    3. This is so much work for them, I am positive it is not true.

I just don't understand how it is possible for anyone to not understand how the RNG works.

I have done over 4400 sickle combines (3 toons to 290 or better from 227) in the last 2 weeks. I can't count the number of times I had 100 to 150 without a skill up. I can't count the number of times I had a failed subcombine (pretty much every cycle resulted in failed subcombines.)

You should be jumping for joy on the 4 skill ups.

                      Well...

I made a GM Bracer, just to see if I could, really... No Skill-up.

                      Then I make a Master's Chest Aug 'cause I found a cheap Dust... got a Skill-up.

But then, I haven't done another run of Blessed Full Mithril since I got 295... so I don't know if it was just luck.

I do know that the 12 or so White Gold Inlays I've done (at various times) didn't net me any skill-ups.

I vote 1. I dont think SOE would do some hokey pokey after Absor posted quite adamently about nothing happening until its been announced 100+ times on Test first.
