  • 300 smithing WITHOUT 1 sickle

Sat/Sun I went from 198 smithing to 300 doing nothing but Pure Enchanted Velium Bar. The trivial is > 300.

Cept for a easy subcombine (CEssence + Purified Water) and lots of enchanting, its all vendor bought.

Smithing vendor bought to 300. Hahaha!

Wow that must have cost you a rather large pile of platinum.

    Any estimate on that cost?

      Costly?

The cost was 1.4 Mpp in vendor components, not counting the purified water.
An estimated 5k velium bars were enchanted.

But **** it was fast. =)

I been really contimplating this method since my farming of bricks of Yttium isnt going so well and if I buy the bricks from bazaar they are selling for 500pp each so the price for both are about the same except it would be an endless supply with the enchanted velium... only problem would be enchanting the velium, my chanter PLing is currently at 33.. need 40 for enchanting velium... hehe, Just in case I go that route

and how much did you get back from selling the bars? this seems like a huge waste of money to get skillups

Pure Enchanted Velium Bar, the "in-between plat sink" between Sickles and Inferno Scepters.

Inferno Scepter (trivial 304), all materials bought from the *same* vendor. No sub-combine. Cost per combine 2624p9g9s6c. No sell back.

                  Blazing Torch 1259p9g9s9c
                  Flarestone 472p4g9s9c
                  Flaring Coal 787p4g9s9c
                  Inferno Scepter Mold 104p9g9s9c

So approx 300 pp per combine for Sickle (not counting sub-combine failures which may raise cost to approx 325 pp average). Sells back to vendor for approx 7 pp.

796 pp per combine for Pure Enchanted Velium Bar (sub-combine failures can only cost you celestial essences). No sell back to vendor.

And 2625 pp per combine for Inferno Scepter. Afaik, no sell back to vendor.

I can definitely imagine an exhausted smith doing the 2625 pp combine at 299 skill . If tailoring has such a recipe, I'll gladly do it. A HIE tailor sitting at 298 skill can be motivated to do really silly things, like Trilounhide Bracers :P.

Duh. Thats the whole POINT of tradeskills. A way to get rid of excess money.

Sickles will sel at 300 in bazaar also

and otherwise just sink em into tribute/guildtribute- friend's tribute :P

I have skilled up to 300 in all but fletching and made PP doing it (on combines on my skillup path, not normal pp generating combines)

Something to consider with sickles tho, even if you can't turn a profit selling them in the bazaar, they can be tributed... not sure for how much as I am waiting for Shadowscream to go trivial before I try to alternate between Yttrium and Sickles and Brellium. But I turned in almost all my Star Ruby Steins so far from pottery, get ~240 tribute per stein, better imo than the 70pp or so I might get for them in the bazaar.

That said if I had the cash, I'd do the quick way in a heartbeat, but it isn't an option for me atm.

Sickles tribute for 1312 each. Considerably more than they cost in plat to make.
On Bertox, they are frequently touted in the bazaar as tribute items.

You will want to kill your self if you try Yttrium, the Fungoid saps are rare in the extreem, Like 2 a hour clearing all the known dropping fungoids in the deep.

Take it from some one whos got 2x Yttirum Spike Gloves and has equipped several other guild members with Yttrium weapons.

I think hes talking about Vah Shir Cultural smithing.. or any others that use yttrium in the master lvl.

They can go up to 290 on 1 brick per combne + about 100pp or less... making this a viable skillup route if you can find the yttrium.

Unless its been changed in the past little while.
