  • Question about smithing cultural armor and chosen deity.

Can a smith make any of the cultural/diety armor for his race? Or only the armor for his specific diety?

This is the only thing I seen in the FAQ that is related to my question. But it doesn't directly answer my question. Does it mean a human smith can make all the diety based armor for his race? or that humans have the widest selection because they have the widest choice of dietys for their smith?

Q: Can I imbue my cultural armor for any diety?
A: No, cultural armor is limited to being imbued for only specific dieties. Humans have the largest selection of imbues because their Clerics and Druids have many options of which religion to choose from. Ogres can imbue for Innoruuk, Cazic-Thule, and Rallos Zek. Dwarves can imbue for Brell and Bristlebane. High Elves can only imbue for Tunare, Dark Elves for Innoruuk, Iksar for Cazic-Thule and Barbarians for Tribunal.

However the FAQ is a little vague on this particular issue.

Since the required compnnent is an imbued gem, any smith can make armor for any deity worshipped by his race (that is available). What that requires is a character that has the imbue spell for his/her deity.

I am a paladin. I don't have an imbue spell. But if I am handed a gem that has been imbued for Veeshan, Innoruuk, Rallos Zek, Mithaniel Marr, Erolisi Marr, Karana, Rodcet Nife, or Bertoxxulous, I can smith the armor for that deity.

From the FAQ. Though I don't know why it's under spells and not cultural.

Q: Do I need to worship the god(dess) to make an imbued item?
A: No, anyone with a good smithing skill can make imbued items, you will only be able to wear the one for your diety though.

I knew I had read it somewhere among the FAQ, but I really looked hard last night and hadn't thought to look there.. Seems like it would be worth adding that in the general neighborhood of where cultural comes up under smithing.
