dorf master armor quest

well, i play this game since 2000. i have done definately a lot of time sink stuff in this time. atm i am doing the dorf master armor and it seems impossible to get the deepspore shrooms to spawn. killing 5 / loot 1 piece sounds simple enough after ya managed to kill 80 horrors. but what a mistake....

i killed about 300+ shriekers (fun fun to kill lb and green mobs with 9k hp) and got only 1 task mob to spawn so far. in the moment i enageged i ld of course and the kill didnt count. this time soe took it too far. i will just give up this braindead task.

beside the rant: plz up the spawnrate a bit :-)

I haven't hunted there much and I don't know where you tried to kill them, but I think I saw them in the north part before the chasm.

I got the named shriekers pretty quickly. It took about 40 minutes farming shriekers on the side of TD closest to Echo Caverns. I just picked one ot the "shrieker clumps" and killed that batch. They seemed to spawn fairly often, to me.

maybe they changed something with the last patch than. i am aeing the deep with some friends, killing all shriekers in sight.... still no luck. guess i gonna bug that.

I had thought this would be an easy part too. The Deep has been one of my favorite zones for a couple years and Deepspore Mushrooms seemed uncommon, but by no means rare.

I have spent 3 hours camping them, keeping 10 shrieker spawn points clear, and have not seen one Deepspore Mushroom spawn. Not sure if something is different, or I have been unlucky.

Another two hours and I found one Deepspore Mushroom. Four to go. Ugh.

i got 4 now :-) just had to kill 1k shriekers. not much if compare it to the outstanding good result of don master armor. /sarcasm off. guess it will be at least good for skillups :-) must be a dorf / paladin (bad mix) thingy: there is no task that is stupid enough that we dont do it.

heh, shreikers took me under 2 hours, working the south side of the zone, Echo side of the chasm. I did have a druid with me though for ds and nukes.

I think we've burned out all the dwarf cleric smiths, or most. Sure have on my server. Dwarf pallys have staying power!

I was mostly clearing the patches in the center of the Echo side of the zone, near the Enraged Shrieker spawnpoint.

I'll move further south and see if I have any better luck.

Of course i'm only killing with me and a botted 60 SHM, so my kill speed isn't the greatest. At least I still get a sliver of experience. The froggy gets decent experience.

I have decided the deepspore simply don't spawn by the Enraged Shrieker (although I know I have seen them there in the past).

Got me another one hunting closer to the zone in. Three more to go.

Had an interesting time of it this weekend.

I spend another 4 hours or so and got my last two Deepspore Mushrooms to spawn (WOOOOOT!).

Then I went to Kaladim and handed the turn in item to Yar Shiverbrow. He gave me the quest completion text, including the mention of the quest reward. However, I did not get the book. It was not on my cursor, nor was it in my inventory.

I don't play much, but still had managed to put close to 20 hours in to completing this quest. So when I did the turn in and didn't get the book, I was very upset. About two minutes later (as I was still staring agape at Yar wondering where my book was) I crashed to desktop.

When I logged back in the book was on my cursor. WHEW. It was a pretty good scare though. Didn't want to have to do this stupid quest again, that's for sure.

It might be a while before I set foot in The Deep again. On the other hand, I realized that my level 60 shaman would KS me by dropping 2 DoTs and siccing his pet. Even if I was hasted. While this was discouraging to my ego, it made for good PLing of the shaman! I used his Lesson of the Devoted and tanked for him, while he got experience for every kill while not running low on mana. The punk…

It would also have been on your curser if you had zoned. Its the same bug when you finish a DoN mission and want that faction crystal.
