Ok, where can I find this stuff. I have killed tons of sonic wolves and have yet to see it drop?

Any help would be appreciated

Quite right. Manipulate the Hollowshade war to put the sonic wolves/owlbears on the islands in the south. The substances do drop in the caves but are something like 1 in 100 or more.

If you make it so the grimlings are wiped out and let the war take its cause, the south islands will change hands every so often, allowing you to merrily massacre whatever is there for drops.

You can also get Shrieking Substance from the Dire Sonic Wolves in Tenebrous Mountains.

The drop rate is about the same as on the islands but the kills are much slower. Dires are much tougher and there are no certain spawn points to camp. You have to hunt around for wanderers.

If you only need a few pieces to kit out an alt or balance your inventory it's an idea but the HM islands are a much more consistent source and you also get the Wailing Substance from the owlbears that you can't get in TM.

If you need tons to skill up definately go to the islands in HM.

Sonic Wolves in TM

In my experience, you can't move 3 feet in Tenebrous without walking into a Sonic Wolf so thats a decent place to. Problem isnt finding them its managing the adds.
