I had a croc drop a tooth last night in PoN, it was clearly glowing. This was after I spent some time in CT working Raptor spawns and getting very discouraged at the drop rate - 0 / 28 atm.

Teeth in PoN
I can easily kill 4 of the crocs in PoN and be back to the first for the repop. Two days ago I cleared the 4 spawns three times with no teeth, then got 3 of the 4 next pops with both a glow and a tooth, so 246-1 seems a bit off by my experience.... Over my limited farm time there so far I am 4 for about 50 kills.

Doesn't matter if it's in game, out of game, joke or serious.
As for the matter previously in this post... Comparing this to the Piles of Gravel with gargoyles, I am assuming that this would be similar in drop rate. I've had streaks where I would kill 15-30 mobs without a drop, last night I was up to 43... then saw three drop back to back. All in all, I almost curious that the level of the mobs being killed comes into play with the drop rate.

Stupid drop rate.
So far got 2 teeth after killing 42 crocs.
I'm lucky in that I used to raid alot so gear allows me to kill all six and be back to greet the first one as it spawns again.
Stupid thing is that the armour sells so cheaply in the bazaar that the time spent farming is not worth the resale and the pathetic drop rate means this is not a viable skillup method.
Also, any smiths that actually wanted this armour as an upgrade wouldn't be in the position to come and hammer these crocs with a group their own lvl.
All in all, DoN tradeskills have been a HUGE dissapointment.Good bashin' too yoo

What is sad and annoying is that only chain/plate and 4 races use this item. Many of the other races and tailored armor have easier drops to obtain. My 56 Beastlord uses Scales from SSRA. At 56 and only "decently" geared he can almost solo the zone in area and can duo it with a cleric. I was hoping to use these to up skills in smithing but instead was looking at the augs, which is again a nuissance because the Crushed Diamond Dust is such a rare drop.
Sony needs to get there head out of there ... If I can forage and obtain Purescale ore at 62 (when i first foraged it) and see random drops at 62 before I can even use it in DoN Instance zones then why is Crushed Diamond Dust so rare?
At 70 on my Ranger now I have become full GM with someone else making the gear for me, but I still need the skill. In a full 70 DoN I see at least 1 if not more MDS or GDH drop per DoN in Thundercrest. They make the GM Gear easier to obtain than the Master's. Something is backwards here IMO.

I didn't realize at first or make the connection about the name change on this item, so via the most recent info I went to the Plane of Nightmare to farm some.
I am a level 70 sk with Time/Qvic gear and 600 plus AA's and had no problems soloing them. I would say lower levels with less gear could too without any difficulty, and the new level 66 fear spell lands on them. It would wear off either right away or right before it ran into adds at the top of the hill (if snared of course). I didn't needt to fear them, but I had just gotten the new spell and it was fun.
Drop rate: I can't give exact numbers, but I would say if I killed up and down the shore every gator I would none on some passes, but some passes I could get as many as two. I spent about maybe four hours there and got 9 all together.
Now for my question:
Now that I have made the connection (the great reptile tooth is not listed as dropping in Veeshan's Peak on the database here), do these indeed drop in VP? What is the rate like? Would I be able to solo them? I have ally faction with the Ring of Scale, but am hated by the Claws of Veeshan. I have my key. If not, could a druid/sk combo do it? My friend and I duo in RCoD without a slower.. Takes some mana, but we do it. Should I bring him here? Just wondering if they cast stuff, can be feared, can be drawn out of the lava, run fast? etc.
Any info would be appreciated.

Ok I am on my second try there now.
I killed 10 the first night and got 4 teeth in Veeshans peak.
I am there now trying, killed five so far and got one tooth. Seems to be better rate than plane of nightmare.
One very cool thing. If you take an sk, aura of darkness (level 61 taps mobs resists and gives them to group) actually lands on them everytime! They cast a DD 1900/150 per tick dot , chromatic resist which is way nasty. At my lowest resist PR buffed to 326 It lands most of the time. With Aura cast I go to 356, and I haven't gotten dotted yet.. but only three mobs test so far.
gonna test fear next, but not sure If I really want to fear there.
The mobs do eventually warp up to land (don't fight in lava), but sometimes I get adds. I stand on edge, use F8 and fire an arrow.
They hit me in the 200's.
Not a bad drop rate, and more fun than PoN I think!
Worth getting the faction and the key for VP if you want Great Reptile Teeth.Eggborn Hatchedrotten
