Well, I have some good news and bad news for all of you trying to locate the Basilisk Tooth for DoN cultural smithing recipes for a few races.
GOOD NEWS - I have found the zone and the mobs that drop the "Basilisk Tooth".
BAD NEWS - They drop in Veeshan's Peak! VERIFIED TONIGHT!!
As I seen mentioned on other threads about finding these elusive components, someone mentioned Veeshan's Peak so I decided to check it out. I took my 4 different toons (4 different accounts, 2 ea played on 2 different pc's) who are all keyed for the updated VP and low and behold, that's where the mobs are that drop the teeth and right at the iz area. I killed about 10 <<a lava basilisk>> and got 2 "Basilisk Tooth". I killed 10 more of the same mobs and no teeth dropped. I just camped all my toons right next to the Sky Fire outzone (which is just a very, very short distance west of the iz) and pulled the mobs from the lava. Having your resist fire up decreases the amount of damage taken in the lava while pulling mobs out and onto the strip of rock by the SF oz. My War with only 227 resist fire would take 125 pts a tick of damage from the lava. The mobs are a little tough hitting for a high of 582 with my War's ac at 1817. The mob is partially slowable and did not resist when tashed. Mob also summons.
The other really bad thing about the location of these drops is that VP is not as easy to get access for as before the revamp. Simply having the old key will not let you enter VP anymore. You need about 50-60 of your servers best equipped players to down the spawned dragon in SF and then loot one of many items that spawn all the ground around the dragon once dead. You can read up on that somewhere else. I'm nowhere near the best equipped on The Nameless but was lucky enough to join the fight the day after the VP patch was released.
