  • Farming Acrylia

Ok, so I have a LOT more acryia rings for making jointing than I had folded sheets of acrylia (all was given by friend who quit EQ). So, I am in need of getting a LOT more blocks of acrylia to make the folded sheets of acrylia. Where would the best/easiest place be to solo farm this stuff. The drop rates in the grimling caves in TM aren't that great, and I had some problems in the tunnels near AC (something saw through my invis, and had tons of agro, luckily was able to make it to AC zone).

Acrylia Caverns is hands-down your best bet. As for getting in, just SoE or SoW/Lev and charge through as fast as you possibly can. I believe the grimling nightknifes and the sonic protectors will see through your invis, but if you move fast enough, you can outpace them. The innate camouflage AA has been a godsend too (even if the see-invis mobs hit me, I keep running and pop IC so no others will add). Learn that entry cave like the back of your hand so you don't have to think about your next turn. As for leaving, just gate.

If the way in proves too problematic, those grimlings in the entry cave in Grimling Forest also drop acrylia, on a similar frequency to the mobs inside, so you could just hunt there. Also, consider converting between sizes to get what you need. While the conversion isn't the most efficient way to go, it will reduce your over-all farm time.

Of course, your best bet is to find a ranger with headshot and a Bow of the Destroyer, and let him lay waste to the place while you loot up. Even with a Windsaber (5 delay slower than a BotD), I can get a backpack full of acrylia bricks and blocks in 30-45 minutes.

Acrylia Caverns is where I farm my acrylia myself, and have found it to give the best droprate. I normally solo the entire area on a 65/480 necro (untill the castle since it doesnt drop from those mobs anyway) normally take a guildy along in the 50s to leach exp off me and in return they carry all the acrylia for me and keep the rest of the loot. sow and invis will get anyone in to AC... just keep running. the pp loot with all the runes, weaps and gems dropping is pretty decent and if you find yourself in trouble soloing I suggest finding a duo partner in there, allow him to take the loot and keep the acrylia for your skill ups.
