Need help with Tradeskill quests

Sory if this addressed elsewhere but i spent 30 minutes looking and couldnt find.. heres my question/problem.

1) For the quests for the 4 books (up to Grandsmaster) do they all need to be completed in order ? or can you just do the Grandmaster Book quest?

2) I did the first 2 quests, skipped the third and got the Task for Grandmaster book.. It says I need to kill 120 Isle drakes and loot their claws which leads to my problem.. I get a Thundercrest Isles mission (which it says i need) and I start killing Isle Drakes and looting claws.. And after every correct kill and loot i get a message saying my task has been updated.. but lo and behold when I scroll down to look at my counter it still is at 120. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) yes you can do them out of order;
2) the counter should read as 'x out of y', so if you killed 10 of the correct mob, it would say "10/120" meaning you have killed 10 out of the 120 needed.

yes , And my counter is NOT updating so I was trying to figure out if its a known bug or anything else i could find

Not sure if there are any bugs... But Thundercrest Isle missions drop at least 3 types of claws. Might be you didn't collect the right type. Good luck though.

were you seeing a seperate update msg for both the kill and looting the drop? the mobs i believe have to have "isle" as part of their name. if you're killing the right ones and getting the message on the kill, i'd petition. that's assuming it's not a bug with a custom UI, so maybe try the default UI too.
