Beware of "Fake" Goblin Bones....

I'm working on my smithing, doing the LDON armor thing. Periodically I scour Bazaar for "Goblin Bones", to be combined with a Flask of Water to make "Bone Temper".

I have a stack of 2 "Goblin Bones" and another stack of 6 "Goblin Bones" in my inventory, and I cannot combine them into a stack of 8. I can use one member of the group of 6 in a combine to make Bone temper, but I cannot use one from the group of 2.

Is anyone aware of an item called "Goblin Bones" that really isn't Goblin bones that we know?

Yes, I've double checked the spelling on the screen, both stacks say "Goblin Bones"....

New Item or game bug?

Anyone else experienced this?

Should I worry about being ripped off now?

Did you check all the stats of both? Do they both have tradeskill tags? Both the same weight, etc?

I know there are some fish out of Cabilis that have the same name but are different weights. I'm wondering if maybe there is some way to distinguish one from the other.

I /bugged this in beta, but I guess they didn't change it.

These new, NON-TRADESKILL Goblin bones drop in DoN zones &/or Lavastorm, I believe. When vendormining, they will cost ~26-27pp, and right-click info will show that they do NOT have a tradeskill-tag. The right-click info as per Lucy for these new Goblin Bones is:

Goblin Bones
WT: 0.3 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL except NEC WIZ MAG ENC
Race: IKS VAH FRG

Whereas Goblin Bones from LDoN are:

Goblin Bones
This item can be used in tradeskills.
WT: 0.2 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

Thanks Maevenniia, I went and looked and verified this is indeed the case.

One set of Goblin Bones is tradeskill flagged, the other set is NOT.

Note to everyone, make sure of which you are buying in Bazaar...

Or off of vendors. I was shocked, spent some hard earned plat, didnt' get as much as I would like back on these. Went crazy and was going to do some /bug -ging like mad untill I noticed the difference. I'll /feedback instead. Wouldn't be the first time complaints have forced them to change some names of items to prevent angry and confused players. Maybe scorched goblin bones and calcified goblin bones, for lavastorm and LDoN respectively?
