I read that Humans need Wooly Rhino Tusks for their Expert Armor.. please tell me that there has been some mistake or they increased the drop rate a lot... If i'm not mistaken those are quite rare...

Don't think they changed anything there regarding the drop rate. Killed about 30 Rhinos in EW and got 5 Horns, just enough to make 2 or 3 pieces of Expert's Armor. Haven't found another source for whooly rhino horns than the Rhinos in EW so far, but you never know.

      Horns

I was getting them alot yesterday.

Then again I was charm kiting them against each other so I'd say I was getting one ever three kills for the hour I played.

I was doing the Journeyman armor Pattern quest just for kicks and Every time I would kill a green shark a Dark blue (I'm 48 bard BTW) Killer shark would show up. It was hard enough swiming after the green sharks, tracking them (good luck in that if you don't have track) and bobbing around in the water but then having to deal with The Dark blue shark. I'm not a tank by any means however trying to kill the Killer shark was dificult. I gave up after the second kill (for the night. gotta sleep) ( I didn't have fear or charm up at the time and swimming is lowsy.) I had two other sharks down to 10% before the killer shark showed up. Must be some sorta Guard.

Went back today and Killed the 18 sharks I had left to do. Collected 6 stones alltogether. Never had a run in with the killer sharks. Maybe an hour altogether tracking them down and then trying to find them in the dark water. It did help to do it during the EQ day. you could actually spot them swimming below the surface, but at night forget about it.

      Rao's gear

Retired from EQ on or around Septemeber 06.

PS. Molto Has retired. EQ2 has lured core group away.

I quit the game I loved because it wasn't anymore. Guilds allowing farmers in because they could do a lot of damage in raids.
SoE not really doing anything about farmers, macroquesters ect.
Still Some of my favorite times spent online happened in Norath. The friends and mobs I remember fondly.

        Wooly Rhino Horn drops

No they didn't change the drop rate they are still quite rare, and in a zone like eastern wastes with so many mobs with the same spawn spot you can have none up. I spent many hours over several days and got a couple tusks ... like 3. It might not be that bad if there are many rhinos up, but if not your screwed.

The Wooly Rhinos have placeholders, at least in the north section of Eastern Wastes they do. If you observe mobs they only wander within certain boundaries. In Eastern Wastes I think there are 4 (maybe a 5th in the southeast) such boundaries, North, East, West and South (around the orc fort). I pulled nearly every single mob on the north boundary, ulthorks and walrus, at the same time and killed them near the same time, making sure with my ranger that I got every mob, then watched track to see what spawned. Spawn time was about 3-5 mins and these are the mobs for that section: a Wooly Rhino, an Ulthork Warrior, an Ulthork Hunter, a walrus, a snow bunny, The Fabled Snow Bunny (until fables are gone). These are all place holders one of another so you just need to kill them all to get the rhinos to pop. I image that the other boundries are similar to this section of Eastern Wastes, but these seem to be the easiest. The East one might be easy too(snow cougars, dervs etc). I've seen the Wooly Rhino in the 4 sections I mentioned so they probably have placeholders that wander there too. Unfortunately the drop rate of the Wooly Rhino Horns seems to be about 1 out of every 10 kills. Compared to the journeyman level..well..I don't like it lol.

Fabled Snow Bunny drops a hat.. like 32 cha and a few other stats, but just regular leather graphics, no bunny ears or anything

          Here is the illustrated version

I got 3 Wooly Rhino Horns from that mess, but there was a few that didn't have anything and disappeared before I took the screenshot as well as a few others wandering around that didn't have any horns, all up at the same time in the area north of the orc fort.
