Anyone forsee a change to the tradeskilling formulas to make getting to 250 easier? The current formula should make getting to 300 without AA's tough.

I'm skeptical, based on recent history.

First, the 300 caps might not be ready at release, but might go in a couple patches later.

Then a few weeks later they may change the way geerlocks and other percentage items work so that they can't raise anyone to an effective skill higher than 305.

Then, after another few weeks they may decide that each person should only be able to get ONE tradeskill above 250, not all of them.

Then they might have to do the same thing they did with secondary specialization. Anyone who got more than one tradeskill over 250 before the 'bug' was fixed could have all their tradeskills reset to 49.

All of those things would be quite in character. Because they've actually happened before, it's hard to dismiss the possibilities. These sorts of things can be quite _upsetting_, but are no longer _surprising_.

Glad I still have stack after stack of Moonlight Tempers still stockpiled (were for Tribute work, but now...). Time to start dusting Blue Diamonds again for the inevitable skill runs, and raise Cain with the spiderling and small furry animal populations

Just curious since I never see anyone mention it. Am I the only idiot that thinks skilling up on Tae ew shields and chain tunics is a good idea? I went from 222-250 on em and they should take you to 295. They tribute for 3k to. Of corse I now have more tribute then I will ever use ever but that's another story.

The Tae Ew is a handy option, but the Tae Ew bloods and/or Iksar bloods can be annoying to gather, which is I think the primary reason it's not pursued more.

I can confirm that the UI shows my skill at 263 with GM Hammer equipped

I did 9 Magnetic Smithing combines (all succeeded), no skill-ups. Probably going to do Sickles for awhile, see how it goes.

/em plants his butt in Hollowshade Moor for a while.

I've already gathered 3 stacks of each substance. Going for a full backpack of each.

When I did my first Shadowscream runs, the war was bugged. I had gotten my wailing substances from Paludal, and my shrieking substances from Dire Sonic Wolves in Tenebrous (which got me more than a few levels in experience back in the day).

It is soooooo much easier now with the war working.

Guh. I felt like I 'beat' OoW because I managed to grind enough AA for BS Mastery 3 before the release of DoN. Now I have 50 more skillups to grind. Oh well.

                    Okay....

Lets see I am working on sickles for now. Only done 60 attempts and gotten 3 skillups so not so bad. At this rate given another average 25 attempts per skillup would be looking at 1250 attempts total x 300 (actual costs per attempt) = 375,000 plat to finish up simthing but along the way you will prolly score 30% of attempts making actual sickles and selling them would bring you back some of the expenses so would be 370 sickles x 500pp (quick to a wholesaler) you would get back 185,000 so true expenses would be 195,000pp to get to skill level 300.

Or you could spend the 375000 and instead of selling the sickles could turn in the 370 sickles (1312 tribute each) for 485,440 tribute for yourself.

And god oh yes I hate this with a purple passion as we didn't have too many expert artisan's on Povar left like myself. We sure as heck aren't gonna have many 300 in 7 tradeskills people. But yes..I am stubborn and plan to be one of the few. Wonder what new title is?

Personally it feels like the tae ew blood is the easy one that drops decently, farming around jail in Sebilis yields me very little of either iksar or froglok blood... maybe I'm just unlucky with the RNG. Sarnak is a little easier because those people actually kill for exp sometimes while leveling an alt or so, so I can find them in the bazaar...

Is DoN required to hit 300, or can we move past 250 without buying it?

I'm sure hoping they don't do an un-announced nerf of mistletoe cutting sickles with the patch on tuesday. That would stink.
