  • Fiery Ore--Leatherbound Journal

A guildie gave me a leatherbound journal last night that he got as a ground spawn inside one of the new tents in LFay that has the displaced old Mistmoore characters in it. There are recipes for new (?) armor using the fiery ore (presumably out of Lavastorm/Sol A), some silver bars, and some other stuff. I can't find anything about this journal or the fiery ore recipes (not the old weapons recipes) anywhere today.

And, of course, I'm at work, so can't re-read the journal until I get home.

Anybody know anything about this journal or these recipes?

Sounds interesting. I wonder if there'll be deathsteel and blackened acrylia as well? The three are similar.

    My research on it-
Lucy lists leatherbound tome as being added in dec 2003 and verified in nov 2004. In the raw data the filname says "ornatechain".

A new set of armor based on that ore (and the others mentioned by the next poster) would be a good idea. The weapons that can be made with the stuff weren't any good when they came out, much less now. A decent armor set might bring some interest into the ore and the areas it is found.

Weapons haven't been very good out of the ores that make both. Acrylia weapons aren't worth wasting tempers and ore on, neither are velium. Most cultural weapons beyond the neat things Trolls can do.
Armor is usually better and higher trivial than weapons. With the new expansion coming out and the new zones attatched to areas where an ore and temper ingredients drop it would make a bit of sense to expand on what already exists.

All speculation, I haven't seen the tome and I'll be out of game for a few months. Happy recipe hunting!

As it turns out, it looks like this book was the origina of ornate chain mail. The book was previously someplace in Mistmoore Castle and was moved out with the move of the old Mistmoore characters into LFay.

It didn't reference fiery ore, but referenced the ore mined by the Firepeak (?) goblins. I mistook that for fiery ore, but it is the high quality ore that drops in Sol A (and a couple other places).

I kinda got excited, but eventually tracked it down.

            False alarm.
