Brekkee - *VarganMarrblade* Does the cultural armor revamp mean that the Guktan Forge will finally have a use?
Rashere - Absor says smash...er...yes.
Anyone have any thoughts on what this might give Frogloks?
(Note - not fishing for beta leaks only general thoughts and hopes of those who are not in the know)
Oddly, Frogloks are able to wear Mystic Koada'dal Mithril armor.
Frogloks are able to wear most unimbued cultural blue-diamond armors, and can wear the Mith Marr imbued human blue diamond cultural as well.
So they don't have a cultural of their own yet, but they do have full access to the blue diamond cultural as wearable gear. It seems overly redundant for them to merely gain the ability to make that same armor themselves - admittedly it would be nice for them to make their own (rather than having to rely on other races), and redundancies do exist (Karana plate armor made by halflings and humans, for example), but I imagine frogs would be very dissappointed if that's all their cultural turned out to be.
One of the things promised in the new expansion is 'an overhaul of cultural armors", right? If so, this is the perfect time to introduce froggy stuff in line with whatever else is new or overhauled.
I guess it depends on what the 'overhaul' has in store. If all it is doing is filling in a few gaps and sorting out some of the oddities in stats then I will be pretty disappointed. When I hear the word overhaul, I expect pretty significant changes, if not some entirely new items.
Should be interesting to see what comes of this.

Also 'overhaul' could include the removal of FRG from existing cultural armours if they are to get their own. So be wary of stuff already bought for a froggie.
Personally I'd hope for: filling in the gaps in deities for armours (maybe even adding in some Sol Ro stuff for those that can use), adding an augment slot or two to existing pieces, making a new line of armour (ie even better than the blue diamond stuff) and possibly even some nice cultural augments (maybe only for use on cultural armours?).
But then we can all dream, can't we..?

I seriously doubt they'll remove existing classes or races from older armors. That would result in some characters suddenly being unable to wear their current armor. Not all characters will be rich enough to afford immediate upgrades; some of my friends literally live day to day with under 100pp in the bank.

kitties want tribal armor too <licks claws sweetly>
The Vah Shir were specifically given no cultural items.. because they don't have a culture.. If memory serves, you can't choose Vah Shir as a race, and pick any deity other then aganostic.
With my main being a froglok, i can't wait for cultural items just need to get smithing up from 150..

That was the same explanation as for half-elves ('they have no culture of their own'), which, while a satisfying roleplay explanation, does little to help the half-elves feeling quite left out of the cultural tradeskilling. Also, RP is a relatively small part of modern EQ, and RP explanations as the sole reason tend not to satisfy much of the playerbase.

that's why i said tribal. the vah shir are more tribal then they are cultural. jsut look at how the city is set up and how they do the SWB weapons. at least it sounds like tribal to me. could be wrong. then we could ahve cultural/tribal armors and everyone would be able to make something
My main is a half elf, Mithaniel Marr worshipping paladin. I have complained for a long time about the "no culture" garbage. My paladin started in Freeport, and as such was surrounded by humans. If a half elf worships Tunare, they start in Felwithe, city of High Elves. It stands to reason that my paladin would have had a more human cultural upbringing, whereas the other would have a more elven upbringing. Just my opinion, but they should have given half elves cultural long ago. What, did they suddenly get culture after almost 6 years?
