Skilling up as an Erudite

What is the best possible route to take to skill up past 188? Cultural is out of the question, since Erudite don't get anything cultural in smithing. Is it basically enchanted velium bits (kinda costly, eh?)? Or is there something else I can work with? The dumb level restriction on ethereal kinda stinks.

Would love any input. Wish Sony would make smithing so you don't have to farm so much.
