how many stacks of Small Piece Of Velium from 191-222?

I usually use the 1 skillup per stack rule of thumb so probably about 30 stacks, but saying that, I did something similar and used less than that. Probably more in the region of 20-25 stacks.

60 stacks, actually... EVB's take 2 pieces each. I recently did 212-222, and it took me right around two backpacks (minus the few regular bits I made because I forgot to burn a scroll).

Unless you happen to enjoy orc slaying, I'd recomend that you supplement that with LDoN plate, and save sand tempers for making pants. Sandblasted greaves tribute for 898 apiece, and you can sell them for a profit on that point alone (in bulk, that is).

One thing to keep in mind, is that these are the "hell levels" of any trade. My skill up rate was a bit lower than 1/20. More like 1/30 (the RNG doesn't like me). But using these as a guide, you can get a pretty good idea on how many it would take. You need 32 points, so your range is between 64 stacks and 96 stacks (remember, that each combine takes 2 small pieces of velium.)

I would agree with the above, as I have just finished this step. With 280 Wis I tend to get 1 in 20 to 25 combines. Having said that....

The RNG loved me for one beautiful day.

212 to 222 in just 53 combines of EVB.

216 to 222 happened in just 11

I guess that was Karma for the 600 imbued Jade idols I made for only 1 skill up.

So wear your lucky rabbits foot, you just never know.....

One skillup per 30 combines is probably more accurate for most people, I'd guess... 2 small peices per combine.. so ya got:

30x2 = 60 = 3 stacks per skill up.

That means for 21 skill ups, roughly 60 to 70 stacks.

Start with 6 ten-slot bags completely full of small piece of velium an' see how high ya get in skill

finally hit 222, looks like I got about 3 to 4 skill ups per 10 slot backpack of small pieces of velium give or take. I didn't keep track but it works out to about to anywhere from 7 to 10 bags of velium from 191 to 222 with str at 330.

now it's either running back and forth doing the acid wash which although fairly inexpensive looks like it might take a looong time (I'm a bard, no gating) or shadowscream. (pain the the butt quest to get tools and farming) I'll probably do both depending on my mood.

i'm also kicking around mistletoe sickles but I might wait till i get 227 from maxing grimel acid wash quest and max out Blacksmith AA's and salvage.

Any one have any experience with skilling on sickles?

I skilled up on ogre cultural actually. Can't help ya so much on sickles. Might want to check if your cultural armor is simple to make or not -- that's another possible path for high end smithing.

I had a few goes at the acid wash combine and got a couple of skillups from it, but it's extremely tedious even for a wizard Only attempted 2 sickles which I was 1/2 on, and only because I wanted the solstice earring for an alt, but they are definitely an option. I've had more success with shadowscream but the farming is a timesink. 231 now and a lot more farming to do yet

I had a good night with shadowscream last night...got 7 skillups off of 96 combines, that's just over 12 combines per skillup. I was quite happy with that. Just need a few more shadows (already have 100 of each substance) and I'll do another run tonight.

with the new shaman buffs and my bard songs I can get my str up to at least 415 or more....hoping this will increase chances of skillups. Anyone know what stats max at now with OOW?
