weapon convertion ?

Sorry if it sounds dumb, but was wondering if there is a way to convert weapons in basic materials ?
I think i've read somewhere it was possible with fine steel weapons, but was wondering if it's possible to convert velium weapons in velium bricks ?

I'm on the way to make a rush to 222 with enchanted velium bits, that's why i want to check if it something possible :-)
