Bazu stuff

Anybody found a way to work this stuff? The pertanant info:

Making armor from the Mukglider (sic) and Feran skins is pretty straightforward. You need to match the pattern to the skin (you don't want to waste a pristine skin on a belt when a ruined one will do), then add an appropriate amount of the creature's blood (this helps the material remain supple). You'll need more blood for the better skins.

Now for the Bazu skin, well, that stuff is hard! You'll have to get a smith to work on that stuff in his forge. Your sewing needle just isn't going to pass through it. The same principles apply, though. You'll still need enough blood from the Bazu to keep the skin from burning in the forge.

So we work it in forge, it alludes to ruined working on belts, and needing blood. I've tried

1 ruined bazu skin
1 Bazu Plasma (Id as distilled blood sample from a bazu)
with and without smithing hammer
tailoring pattern, banded patter, chainmail, plate mold, full plate mold.

Nothing combined. I only have 1 skin and 1 blood, so can't try more. Any ideas?

Belts are traditionally a "2 sheet" item.

Might try with a Bracer Mold/Pattern (I'm guessing this will produce Chain-class armour) instead.

Are you making Plate or Chain? Normally you need to make Rings or Sheets first. Just a thought.

The reason I went with the belt is he specificly mentions the belt as a 'ruined' hide combine. Seems this stuff replaces # sheets with quality of hide, in theory.

As for making rings/sheets. I tried combining blood, hide, w/wo file, w/wo hammer. Nada.

If it is going the same pattern as tailoring, you will need 2 bloods for this combine

Recipe: Ruined Feran Hide, Sewing Needle, Feran Blood, Belt Pattern

Seeming like the pattern is going:
1 Blood for Ruined
2 Blood for Damaged
3 Blood for "Normal"
4 Blood for Pristine

Sewing needle shouldn't be a component for the bazu combines... the book says the hide is too tuff for a needle to work with.

Bazu Plasma is for Cleric epic 1.5/2.0. I believe there is another item called Bazu Blood. We have had some confusion working on the quest as well, as we need 3 different plasmas and there are corresponding bloods for some or all of them. Confusing for sure.

Ok, it kinda seems like to make each peice of armor, you need a very specific combination of parts.

I attempted to make a veil with this:

Chainmail Veil pattern
4 Bazu Blood
Pristine Bazu skin
Smithy hammer

Does not combine. =(

So i tried many other different patters with pristine skin and 4 blood. Nothing... Untill i made a Tunic.

I didnt really *want* a tunic, as i got a nice tunic on my shaman, i wanted a veil or a new belt.

Heres my guess.
The 'better' armor peices (bp, legs) need the pristine skin and 4 blood.
The medium armor peices (helm, boots, etc) need a regular skin and 3 blood, but you CAN use pristine skin and get the same item.
The lower armor peices (veil, wrist) use lower quality pelts and fewer blood, but you can still use a higher quality pelt, but they will be kind of wasted.

Its like using a skinning knife on a HQ pelt to make it MQ pelts and then LQ pelts.... except you dont have to skin the pelts. =)

Using a higher quality pelt on a recepie that calls for a lower quality pelt doesnt make the armor any better, it just uses up more valuable pelts.

Check the leather and silk tailoring for the quality on Bazu Skins and the quantity on Bazu Blood for each piece.

Ok so when you use Bazu stuff for the 'better slots' its chain.. but when you use it for 'lesser slots' its hybrid? (I made a bazu belt and its hybrid only, no shaman!)

And the *leather* belt is shaman usable.. but its reallt Priest class?!?

What logic?

So really, theres no good OOW tradeskill-made shaman-wearable veils or belts, period. (Good = 50hp+)
