Elaborate Hinge drops off the Scrap Collectors. I'm not sure about any other mob, but I know this is confirmed.

BEWARE...

The combine to make the "box" - Elaborate Hinge + Gnarled Wood + Rune Covered Insert into a forge... is NOT a no-fail combine. You will need to have your Blacksmithing skill raised. The trivial is not known yet. It is reported that someone with a skill of 200 failed and it was not yet trivial.

Two things:

Since it seems that the various epic upgrades are going to require tradeskills, we'd dearly, dearly love writeups for the tradeskill parts of these. Submissions should go down in the "Quests requiring tradeskills" forum.

This is misleading. If they failed on the combine, then they have NO accurate indication of if it is trivial or not, as the failure message is simply a failure message. You can only get verification of if something is trivial on a success. (Yes, I know, the failure message confuses folks, and they assume that something is not yet trivial, but you truly cannot make that assumption on a failure. )

Obviously, I should have expounded. It was a quick post and assumed it would be understood either way since the person had visited the Necro BB as well.

215 - not trivial
230 (Geerlok *and* rank 1 of Smithing mastery) - trivial

However... it seems that this was not meant to be a no-fail combine. A Dev on Test said it should be changed with the patch on Wednesday - either to no-fail or a low skill check.

As for more information, continue to follow the Necro BB and now Allak has the quest started.

I'm sure someone will submit a write-up. I only came here for information and responded to a post regarding the same topic.
