PoFire Plate Armor

Been saving up components to try and get some combines made... but I have yet to come across 'Metallic Substance's from magma golems in Fire. These are required to make the temper, but I cant find them or have luck for them to drop... Anyone have any pointers? You need ONE substance, for EVERY subcombine for each piece of armor.. so like 2-6 for ONE armor combine... if I havent found one substance yet, and u need that many for a single combine... I give up right now..

I got about 1/20 from killing all the magma golem type mobs at the bird spot and the few wanderers you can find in the yellow field. Gave up farming then around the 5th drop. So over the course of 3 sessions, I killed about 100 mobs and got 5 drops. Yuck. Good luck.

I've only killed a few of these golems thingys speculatively on the chance of metallic substance dropping (I have yet to see one). Even knowing that it might be a 1 in 20 drop has given me new heart that I'm not totally wasting my time with them.

When we first got into fire, the Metallic Substances dropped a lot more common. I was able to make Legs, and make 4 other attempts on fire armor items in just under a month. After that these became hellishly rare for some reason - and in the following 6 months of farming Fire I only got 2 more....so they do still drop but the rate seems broken now

I've been collecting these for a number of months now... Rare finds in the Bazaar, usually.

Of course, the guy who wants 100kpp for 1(!?!) really makes me mad. The armour itself isn't worth nearly that much!

Of course, now I've got Livestone Plate... so the Inferno Plate Vambraces have become a "I just want to make 'em, drannit!" item for me now.
