  • Another thread on GoD weapons - constructive ideas only please :)

I've read most of the threads on this issue. As a tradeskiller, I love being able to find reasonably priced shimmering raw materials so I can put my skills to use to finally make something decent to equip and/or sell for a profit. I don't see the problem as there suddenly being too many shimmering drops, nor the trivial being too low. The problem is that folks are making the same handful of weapons and undercutting each other so they can sell theirs first.

What I would like to have seen done is having tempers (preferably buyable from an NPC merchant) included in the combines. TemperA would create a weapon useable by Enchanters and would have a few extra Cha and Int points; temperB would create a weapon useable by Monks and have a few extra Agi and Dex; temperC would create a weapon useable by Warriors and have extra HP and Sta; etc. Sort of the way the various sauced meats make food with different stats.

    AND/OR

(Let me start out this paragraph by sayin I realize the logistics on this approach are much more complicated) Put a spin on the idea of cultural tradeskilling and have Dark Elves make weapons that are only useable by other Dark Elves, or Ogres make weapons that are only useable by other Ogres ... or Shadow Knights make weapons only useable by SKs. Perhaps this approach could take a page from the LoY robes and there would be an NPC who would only hand you the temper required to make the weapon if you were of the correct class or race. (NO IMBUES/ENCHANTS REQUIRED, PLEASE!)

I realize there is a snowball's chance of this approach being retro-implemented for GoD smithing ... though maybe if there was an NPC that you could hand your old GoD weapon to exchange for the new version ::shrug:: But perhaps if we as a group can hash out this type of format, Sony would consider it as a model for future new tradeskill combines.

Thank you for reading, and discuss among yourselves

I see nothing wrong with GOD weapons, how they are made, the stats , the drop rate or the fact they are actually affordable in Bazaar. Just leave them alone.

SOE would be negligent to waste any more resources on this subject when there are many more important tradeskill issues for them to deal with and spend man hours on. Why fix something that is not broken?
