  • What to make for amusement?

I recently got to 240 in smith via Shadowscream and Sickles. I am a 64 Enchanter.

I'm looking for suggestion of what to make for amusement. Something that I can hunt down the components solo when I cant get a group, or that I can get via occasional vendor diving. I'm not really looking to make pp, but that is never a bad thing.

I was sorta looking at Tae Ew things (not sure if I can solo or pair up in CT) and also some black acrylia weapons (the temper looks a pest but perhaps I can solo in ME). Any comments on these or other fun things to put on my list?

When I am looking to make things for amusement, I usuall try baking or brewing something. Nothing like giving your favorite hobbit friend some Hot-N-Spicy Halfling Toes! Or making a Root Beer Float, or some Skunk Breath Ale.

But if I had to limit myself to smithing recipies I might make Acrylia, Tae Ew or Night Terror stuff. As a 64 Enchanter you should be able to hunt the components for these armors without too much difficulty. Getting the fetid slime off of the Sharluigs might be the toughest, but not undoable.

Acrylia is nice because you will get more ore than temper components. You can break the rest of the ore down into small pieces and sell it for a profit.

    Good luck to you!

Actually, I was not able to solo effectively in CT. Need to try else where. Where do I hunt for Night Terror?

Night Terror components are farmed in the Plane of Nightmare. Nightmare Iron drops off of a lot of things in the zone. Nightmare Mephit Blood drops off of mephitis, which probably aren't soloable (sorry, I forgot about those), fetid slime drops off of Slarghilugs.

I bet you could charm solo the entrance of CT. There are two 'gate guards' that should be easy (Pacify one, charm the other, use the charmed one to kill the first). You should then be able to use your AoE Pacify spell to lull the mobs just inside the gate enough to pull singles. Your charmed pet will make short enough work out of a slowed mob. If things go wrong the zone is just a short run away.

I 2-boxed these, tanking with my 65 Paladin and slowing with my (at the time) mid 50's chanter. Didn't try charming anything, so I'm not sure they are charmable. But if they are you should be in good shape. You probably would not do well trying to have your pet tank there though.

        Good luck to you!

I think that everything in CT is flagged as charm immune.

Yep cant charm in CT. Tried (almost painfully). And my pet can only manage barely if I use a whole bar of mana chain rune-ing.

Charming in PoN is also too hard. Adds are too much for a solo chanter.

So hmm any ideas about what to make as a 240 smith? I guess it will be black acrylia or vendor diving.

I splashed out on some shimmering nihilite in the bazaar, used up some shimmering aligned ore I'd picked up from a vendor, did some running around, and made some velium inlaid claws. (With 224+geerlok) 1/2 combines. Drooled over the stats for a while then stuck it in the bazaar and sold it for 24k within a day.

That was fun for me :-)
