  • High end smithing

Ok, smithing is up to 229 and I want to get those last 21 points...what do y'all think would be the best path? I'm a 65 Froglok Wizard, so cultural smithing is out, the only other way I can think of is to do Shadowscream and all that fun farming that goes with it, bleh.

I'm not asking for advice on how to farm items for SS, that's been beaten to death, hehe. I'm just looking for some alternate paths for the last few points I need.

    Thanks for the help!

if you have the money...you could just make Inferno Scepters....not sure if its level restricted on combine...but the stats here dont show it that way.

another way is Tae Ew chain items...just go camp CT entrance and collect as much blood as you can...

Also can do Sickles at an outrageous cost. Can do some PoP stuff if you can farm the materials.

        Shadowscream.

As a lvl 65 Wizard, farming is easy - my brother is a 65 Wizard and he does this too . The Lesser and Greater Shades in Twilight Sea are a viable option and they drop the Shadows you need fairly often (sometimes even 2 at a time). Manipulating and farming the Hollowshade War should not be too hard either.

I switched from Shadowscream to Sickles at (230), since my success are now quite good, and I am able to sell them profitably on my server. I now find this less time consuming and less cost (making profit) than Shadow scream.

I'll probably make another batch of Shadowscream before I'm done for variety, and since I love messing with the war.

At 2000pp an attempt, I dont suggest this route.

I'm surprised (well, maybe not give the lack of enthusiasm for the tradeskill part of GoD) that no one has mentioned GoD weapon smithing as an alternate skill up path, at least for some of the way. If I'm not mistaken you can do tier one drop (pale nihlite and aligned ore) weapons till 232. If you have access to tier two drops, you can go to 250.

The market for GoD weapons is in flux on most servers atm but you should be able to break even I would think (although it might take some time).

Have you used the Quick Trival List to examine what items are above your skill level? I used this a lot when skilling up in all tradeskills when I felt like I was in a rut.

If you're goiong to do the GoD smithing route, the best way to do it is to make the hth weapons. They only take one velium/bar/nihilite. All the other weapons take two.

I've actually had decent runs on my 55 enc (255 int) by making the pale velium inlaid cestus for skilling. I think I'm averaging (skill is only 223 atm) one skillup every 10 to 15 combines. My last run of 72 cestus got me 6 skillups.

Axemaster, you mentioned going with Tae Ew chain, and that sounds like a possible option...any idea on how often the blood drops? I don't think I'd have much problem camping the lizards, but if the blood is fairly rare it might not be a good path either.

As a shaman farming in CT, in the maze, I am happy--even thrilled--if I get 2 bloods an hour. I know enchanters and wizards who can kill much much faster than that, though. I'd imagine necros can as well.

On TP with my usual hunting group in Cazic we get ~7 per hour or two by farming the entrance. But that's not soloing..we group it for XP so we chain pull.. usually keep the first big room cleared, plus the two entrance mobs.

I've got about a stack of blood sitting in my bank and they've been pawning the rest 'cuz my bank is full and I'm not far enough along to actually use the stuff for skillups.. once I'm needing it again we'll probably be more aggressive.

                          Brickhaus I LOVE YOU!!!!!

I was stressing on smithing, having only achieved 115 and used up my velium supply, when lo and behold I see your post about GoD smithing and I was dumbstruck...

I had over 120 bars of aligned steal saved up on an alt and totally for got about them.

I not only achieved 220 for the AG quest, I made it to 222 and still had loads of the bars left over.

I cannot thank you enough for reminding me of the GoD TS route, it saved my sanity tonight =)

Now to get 227 with the BP cleaning =)
