EVB's, No skillups in 20 stacks ?!?!

I did 36 combines yesterday and went from 202 to 205 smithing at 319 int. It's cheaper than LDoN armour so I'm sticking with it

Wow. You got 3 points in 36 combines. That's pretty good. I did about 130 combines the other day, and only got 3 points myself. That was quite frustrating, I must admit. I was hoping for 6-7 points.

Ah, but last night I did another 80 combines without a skillup

A friend of mine who has recently GMed every trade skill for the Aid Grimel told me that he is convinced that there are seperate modifiers for different combines. EVBs being one of the most difficult to skill up on. I tend to believe him after reading this post.

Sorry, I don't think that EVB's give you a lesser chance for skillups. I went the way from 212 to 222 in less than 150 EVB combines (with Geerlok equipped and Wisdom at 355); thats only 15 combines per skillup. So while I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck, I'm glad that I got many skillups in few combines...

When I made EVBs in Thurg, I hardly got any skill ups. The moment I went to PoK to make them, the skill ups just kept coming.

I got my skill ups at a better rate than 1/20 doing the combines in thurg. It's a random occurance. Really.

truth be told, there's just no secret. if you're having bad luck, just stop. and not like an hour, but take a day or 3 off or skilling. go slaughter a lowbie area, or take revenge on something from your past. (i soloed cazel the other day. that was theraputic).

last thing we need is yet another rng bashing session. it only goes in a circle.
