  • WARNING: Do NOT use the Tradeskill UI for GoD smithing! (Now fixed)

At the very least, don't use it to do anything to ore. It currently (for me) DNCs if I do it the original way (Experiment) and eats up the component ore if I do it the Tradeskill UI way. Noooooot happy.

Edit: This has definitely been fixed now. If you do not believe me, try the combine in the original interface.

It may be related, but I just tried some Pale Nihilite, Raw Dark Matter, and Muramite Etched scales combines, and ended up with 1 or 2 refined products and a water flask, where I was getting 2-3 end products.

      Nope, those are unrelated.
The 1 flask of water was their quick-fix for the extra return. This just simply does not combine at all.

Gotta wonder if we'd be getting the water flask with the ore to bar of steel conversions, if the recipe worked still . . .

I gotta concur here. I went through the PITA of doing the smithing and jewelry quests so I could start doing GoD combines. Put an aligned ore in ANY forge and "cannot combine these items in this container type." Ya, thanks.

              Also--
I did the reinforced jewelry bag turn in--but used a planar jewelry bag cause that was what I had on me. NPC ate my turepta shell, but returned my bag and two threads to me, saying he had 'no need for this item.' Had to go get another shell, turned it all in again, and got my bag.

I'm having the same problem, except that I'm using the default UI.
Forges in abysmal sea, Freeport and PoK all give the same response,
not in this forge, you don't.
No problem with the reinforced jewel bag turn in, and have even
used it sucessfully to get a pale Nihilite

I also lost 2 shimmering ore due to this bug. I did a /bug and /petition and was told by GM cant have items back due to tradeskill failure. Explained this wasnt due to a failure but to some sort of bug, ate my stuff but at the same time gave me the DNC message.

As to the raw shimm nihilite I had no problem at all refining these, no failures at all and the only odd thing was the water flask.

                  Hope they fiix this soon...

I did get my ore back, but had to really push the GM to do so.

Is shimmering aligned ore a drop or made? If it is made, then is the shimmering ore a drop? I ck'd on this site but there is no "source" listed yet...

Koutarou what reason/argument did you give the GM & do you have any suggestions on what to say to get it returned? Thanks.

I have given all the reasons including the fact that I received a DNC message yet my items were still taken, to linking this thread to show it wasn't simply a combine failure. Rather then the GM actually check anything out he just keeps giving me the generic response "We cant return items from combine failures."

Any suggestions? Was only 2 pieces for me, but still tough for me to even get in the first place.

I stated that this was attempted with new UI and gave a "Items do not combine in these quantity to produce anything" message rather than a combine failure message but still ate components. I also stated that this situation should NEVER happen in new UI (a memorized recipe should never give a DNC message).

Also told the GM to ask Alan Vancouvering or John Mash about the bug if he had further questions, since by that time both of them had posted they were aware of it.

And the GM *DID* tell me that it showed up as a failed combine in their logs. Of course, I was able to easily refute this, since my skill was 200 over trivial, making it a no-fail.

It's actually "Jason", not "John", but I fergive ya!

Which GM were you talking to? And on what character? I'll mention it to one of the CS guys the next time I see them.
