  • Windstones...

Anyone recomend a good place to farm windstones? The best place I've found so far is the twighlight sea.

They are a rare drop anywhere so don't expect much but I get some from the Grimlings in Tenebrous Mountains when I go hunting for acrylia. They also drop luclin gems, weapons worth about 5pp and tons of acrylia runes so the money isn't horrible.

Grimlings and meeda hune aliens in Tenebrous drop windstones rarely. But there are lots of grimlings there, and they drop acrylia too. Plus, there are sonics who drop shrieking substance now and then - also can be useful. I never hunted in Grimling Forest - I dislike the place for some reason. If you can hack Acrylia Caves and Grieg's, mobs drop windstones there as well.

Twilight sea is not bad too. Though I usually go to the hidden section - easy to farm condensed ice there.

It seems like they've added windstones to a lot of Luclin zones that didn't previously have them. I've gotten them in Grimling Forest off grimlings in the cave to Acrylia Caverns, and I've gotten them off elysians in Umbral Plains. So it may be a global gem in Luclin now.

The traditional spot has always been the caves in TM, with the one nearer the Grimling zone line being the preferred one.

They have added windstones to alot more mobs than their used to be. I farm Twilight for Swirling Mist, Lava Rocks, Mercury, Essence of Wind. A few months back, I started getting windstones and Iron Oxide. Neither of which used to drop on the elemental island. (I clear the island over and over again.)

They drop in Grieg's End now (on test at least). I was surprised to get a few while playing around in there recently.

Grieg's End is fun to mess around in too. If you took a group (or actually I duoed with a warrior but kills were slow) you could clear through. There are enough named to get a nice item for everyone - if you are a group of 65s you probably wouldn't wear much of it but it makes nice tribute.

It isn't the best place to farm windstones but it might be a fun alternate where you can get a little xp a few nice drops and some windstones as a bonus.

I used to xp in UP. If you loathe farming greens, you can get an AA in a couple/four hours there, and a decent amount of windstones.

Hrm, windstones have always dropped on the elemental island in Twilight Sea. I've gotten some back before PoP was out...
