What to do with those extra Leather Paddings

A while ago when I finished my fine plate, I over-estimated how many leather padding I needed. I have literally 100's of leather padding crowding up my bank. What is the best use for them especially to continue smithing beyond 227?

Make acrylia breastplates with it. Farm windstones and essence of wind from the alien mobs in the hidden valley in Twilight Sea for the temper. There are other places (Grimling Forest caves, Ten Mts, Scarlet Desert) but the hidden valley will yield the best results, plus you can get condensed ice for skilling up fletching. Depopulate the grimlings in AC for as much acrylia as you can hold and make the BPs. They tribute for about 1300.

Thanks for the tip. I was considering Acrylia Breastplates since doing Shadowscream armor endlessly kind of scared me a bit.

Drop rate

Since this thread has been renewed, thought I would mention that I think the drop rate has been increased significantly since this thread was started. I collected my silk from Everfrost, right around the PoK book. I killed pretty much everything in the area, getting silks and hides also.

Best place to get LQ hides that I have found is Maru Seru from the hoppers. I have a little advantage over others in that my 70 druid can run around, tag every hopper that i can see, and then when I have a train of 10-20 of em, cast my earthquake spell and loot up. But even then, they aren't too hard to solo if you have a decent level character. Hoppers there only drop Greyhopper hides and LQ hopper hides. Can sell the Hopper hides to tailors working on going from 82 skill to 95 and use the LQ hides for padding.

I farm silk in Nektulous Forest while waiting for MM tasktimers to end. Very common to get 2+ silks from a spiderling there. Toxullia forest with the widow hatchlings is another good spot if you can track. I've gotten 6 silks from a single spiderling before, but it's rare. Also, they have upped the number of spiderlings in East Commonlands near the 'newbie' Inn.
