Royal Tempers are still too costly for me to consider skilling up on. At 250-500 pp Per Essence it's just nuts

The Croma drakes in WL, What kind of faction hits are there on them? Same as if You kill something in PoG?

You don't need Royal Tempers to do Freeport "Old Style" Imbued Field Plate cultural armor for skillups! This armor requires Sea Temper, brewed from 2 Mugs of Sea Foam + 1 Saltwater Seaweed + 1 Fish Wine (trivial is around 135).

      See the recipes here.

To make a Karana Field Plate Bracer, for instance, you need:

1 Plate Bracer Mold + 1 Sea Temper + 1 Imbued Plains Pebble + 1 HQ Folded Sheet of Metal + 1 Leather Padding + 1 Chain Jointing + your trusty smithy hammer

The HQ Folded Sheets are made from Block of HQ Ore + Smithy Hammer + Water Flask The ore costs about 52 pp per block, available from vendors in PoK, Bazaar, Kaladim or Qeynos, and the vendor can be restocked by doing a relatively easy quest.

The Chain Jointing is made from Metal Rings + file + smithy hammer + water flask

The Metal Rings are made from 1 Large Brick of Ore + file + water flask (2 rings per successful combine)

There is a regular forge right near the Freeport Forge at the Warrior Guild in West Freeport. There is an Ore Dealer in North Freeport at Groflah's Forge and a mold vendor upstairs in East Freeport at Ikthar's Forge

So, no need to kill chromodracs or sand giants (just yet, anyways). Go kill Seafury Cyclopses and do some fishing. Buy your plains pebbles in bazaar, and then go off and exercise your wrist in Freeport. The Breastplate trivials at 242 skill, and costs around 175 pp to make (assuming you farm the temper components and get plains pebbles cheap and sells back to a vendor for about 135 or so pp, only a 40 pp loss per success.

Aye, I have my pet druid on the matter of collecting Mugs of Sea foam , Thanks for the heads up, Although I am still interested in knowing what faction loss I will take when I deside it's time to slaughter croma drakes.

Chroma drakes are on kunark dragon faction, ring of scale I believe. Killing them will eventually make you KoS to Gore and other kunark dragons. This can be repaired though by killing in mistmoore castle.

            Hey there,

I am a human smith that has done the human cultural route. My current skill is 230, and I primarily skilled up on imbued field plate. Quick comment, even when you move to the 2 sheet and 3 sheet items, it is not that much more expensive. The 2 sheet items sell back for about 35pp more than the 1 sheet items. Since the extra sheet costs about 50pp, the net increase in cost is only 15pp.

If you have the system worked out for doing imbued field plate, I would suggest you keep doing it even through the 2 and 3 sheet regions. Also, it is usually cheaper to do the imbued versions as compared to the non-imbued. Going imbued adds the cost of the gem (2-5pp for imbued plains pebbles). This is likely cheaper than going the multi-sheet non-imbued way. I can't confirm this however since I never did any multi-sheet non-imbued sell-backs.

            Good Luck!

            Papy

I Think Sellback is the Same...

If I recall correctly, Imbued Field Plate sells back to the vendor for the same price as unimbued Field Plate.

                Re: gem cost

Just a note. I used both imbued opals (almost 18plat each) and imbued plains pebbles (free) and the sellback price was the same to vendor. Almost worth making really good friends with an Erollisi Marr imbuer. Using Rose Quartz would save alot of money over 1000 + combines.

Where exactly is the cultural forge in freeport? is it by the warriors guild?

I can kill the guards, but it is more of a pain than it is worth, so I guess some faction fixing may be in order.

EDIT: NM, I see that it is behind the warrior guild. Anyone know if the warrior guild faction is tied into the freeport militia faction? I don't think it is, but I can't remember.

I killed Lucan a few times, and my faction is bottomed out....I think I'd rather take my chances than spend two years trying to fix my faction.

                    Freeport Forge Location

Freeport Forge is on a platform in the courtyard of the Warrior's Guild in West Freeport (#6 on EQAtlas' map). Go into the left front door of the warrior guild, go down the hall till you see an open door. Enter through the door into a courtyard. On your right will be a normal forge. Ahead, on a wooden platform, is the Freeport Cultural Forge.

The fairy dragons in WL are on PoG factoin yes.. Chroma's in skyfire are ring of scale.

                      Aleena

Also as a side note. Doing the fishing for freeport cultural is very time consuming. At 200 Fishing I managed 3 seaweed per stack of bait so be prepared for a huge time sink there. IF your impatient, killing things for SS would be much better. But if your lazy or relaxed or like to chat / talk in market its your best bet. Also just auction for the mugs of sea foam. I offer 5pp per and usually come out with a 2 stacks a night while fishing. Also check the merchants at sister and AC isle.
