There are guides for this... but....

Do ornate chain until you have trivaled Ornate Plat Chain or Gold Chain.
Then do fine plate until 188 when Fine Plate BP's trival.

You can get the leather padding in the bazaar from players.

Once you hit 188, then do mistletoe sickles.
Sickles will cost you about 7kpp-ish per 20 attempts = maybe get 1 skill up.
On each run of 20 sickles you MIGHT actually succeed and make 1 you can resell for 2kpp.. (5% chance or less if u factor in fails on sub-combines).

That's what I would recommend. Lotta clicking though for sickles.
Depends if you buy pre-combined/pre-made essences/dust/tempers from players or make all that crap yourself.... I'd buy pre-made stuff!

Also check your racial smithing and see if you have an alternative old cultural skill up path from 188 to 200.

Zhorn has a decent suggestion, but there MAY be a better way. Depends on your race. Some races (dark elves, high elves, dwarves, humans, and ogres) all have old cultural which in many cases is cheaper than the blessed sickle with a lot of the components available in the bazaar. You might even be able to sell some of the pieces :-)

        speed

old cultural is not an option here.

It wouldn't matter if you had 10 million pp, you can simply not buy enough of the parts to make ogre, human, high elf, and dwarf cultural.

There isn't enough supply and it will take MONTHS of buying in the baz (or camping which is faster) to get enough to skill up.

M Sicks are the best because you can sit down in 48 hours later have 2000 combines (provided you have a ton of cash).

Well... if it takes 7kpp per skill point (past 188)... you might do it for 84kpp.

              Or not.

First of all.. What RACE are you?
Secondly... What do you plan to make once you hit 200?

These two bits of information will help greatly.

Sickles will be the fastest way to 200. Human cultural could take you there, but camping tempers will not be fast in the quantities needed.

Be aware, however, that your ~300 combines will still take 900 imbued emeralds, as well as around 3000 celestial essences.

You could easily hit a hell level and get no skill ups for 100 combines.

                  Have fun.

                    roughly

The Ornate chain then FS then Sickles is the best route, if you don't care about money.

As for can you go from 188 to 200 with 100k? Possibly, but don't count on it.

Biggest initial problem? The imbued emeralds. Going to likely have to pay someone to imbue them. Or buy them in the bazaar. buy them in the bazaar and it will cost more, and likely there will not be as much as you need.

                    Some rough numbers for you.

Skill up rate - 1 point in 30 combines (with 250 wisdom / int / str)
Success rate - 5% average until 210ish skill
Cost per sickle attempt - $403.556 - accounting for all sub combines and 5% failure rates for them all.

From 188 to 200 is 12 Skill ups. 30 attempts per skill up on average.

360 sickle attempts is what you will need @ $403.556 per attempt.
Total needed 145280.2pp for the combines. Expected success rate will yield 18 sickles. estimated sell at 2k per giving you back 36kpp

Total Net cost from 188 to 200 using sickles, selling success for 2kpp each, and buying every raw component, and making every subcombine yourself, along with getting free imbued emeralds or doing it yourself?

                    --109280.2pp--

So yes, you can likely do it for 100kpp. Just as a warning. 30 is the average. A single bad run of 100 sickles without a skill up is 40,455 platinum pieces.

If cost isn't an option, sickles are the way to go. Preparation for 80 sickles for me is 5 hours (including imbueing the emeralds), i.e. 12 stacks of blessed dust, 12 stacks of celestial essense, 12 stacks of mistletoe temper. The combines into hilt / pommel / curved blade and finally the sickles takes me about 2 hours for 80 sickles.

So by yourself, count on about 20 hours of prepwork, and 8 hours of combines. Not that bad really.
