cultural armor. if you have velious enchanted velium bits. if the trivs are old-school then fine plate will take you to like 242 i think so you dont really care anyway.

    Maker of Picnics.
Cooker of things best left unidentified.
"Grimrose points to the sky. Look! Up in the sky, it's a bird, no, a plane, no it's Picnic-Man. It's Emiamn, a mild mannered tradeskiller by day but daring handsome crime fighter at night. Spreading peace and joy to norrath with his mighty Picnics!"

      Enchanted Velium Bits should get you to 222; by far fastest/cheapest way to go about it. Even though the expansions might not be avaiable in your area I'm positive that the patches and trivials are same as they are on all other servers; Only other thing I can think of is cultural armor;
      Vhalis Iceclad
      Alchemy 200 +15%
      Baking 250 +5%
      Tailoring 197
      Blacksmithing 231 +10%
      Fletching 200
      Brewing 250 +5%
      Jewellery 250 + 5%
      Pottery 250 + 5%

          Enchanted Velium Bits ...
as u can see,Nimren in Thurg was bugged and now he no longer sells Coldain Velium Temper...
well, seems the only way is to make cultural ones.
is there any advice for cultural smithing without LUC and POP?
which cultural thing should i begin my work?

Sometimes the foreign servers (like Kael, Seb, and ... uh, that third Ubisoft one) use different (usually older) data than the standard SOE servers. The Fine Plate suggestion was based on that possibility, as it used to trivial much higher. 188 has only become a breakpoint after that change however, making that little bit of trivia probably irrelevant for your situation.

As for how to get to 250, I would agree with the others: You probably have to do Cultural, assuming your a race with 200+ triv cultural combines. The "old" cultural (the stuff which does not require blue diamonds) and the "new" cultural (the stuff that does require blue diamonds) provide a few different choices for progression paths, based on what you can farm/buy, and what you plan to do with the products (sell to vendors, players, etc). If you don't have cultural ... I don't think there are any other options, except maybe Trophys, and that would be horrible to try to skillup with.

Modern smithing trivial progression really requires the more recient expansions for most of the advancement methods. Its definitely going to be a challenge - best of luck to you

Edit - You can brew Coldain Velium Tempers as well ... er, no you can't. They need Celestial Solvent, a Luclin (and now PoP) item

If you need the solvent, which is only available on Luclin and PoP, just have someone you know who has the expansions buy it for you. The rest of the stuff can be bought on Velious. If you have no friends, make some.

I take great offense to this.

                  1. Venril Sathir is the name you are looking for (UK based)
                  2. VS Gets the same patches the rest of the servers do (sometimes much to our annoyance due to the timing).

EVB do work on VS, got me to 222.

Subzero, does your country have it's own server? I'd hate to imagine what brewers make without celestial essence, While Mino brew is fun, not a real market for it..

Also surely Blue Diamond armour needs celetial solvent (to make the celestial tempers). If the solvent exists, then the scent of marr also exists so velium tempers can be made.

we have servers in my country, and from what i was informed, the patches, and the data is the same as the servers in US and other countries, just without LUC and POP,we even have LOY...well,that's not the thing i concerned.
so the NPC in Thurg no longer sells Coldain Velium Temper cause the bug,and seems SOE doesn't know it's too bad for a guy who want to train smithing skills...
i've checked a lot on ETC,smithing is much ezer with POP and LUC ,but my server still in stone age...
cultural smithing is for self use to me,and to support my guild members.not mainly for sell.
hmm...seems i have to do it hard ...
i do believe that fine plate is cap at 188,so,from what is said above, maybe the only way to make a 250 master is to do cultural smithing...

Subzero, where can you get Celestial solvent to make the Celestial temper to make the BD Cultral? Just checked and CS is PoP or SoL only. As you can't buy this, you can't do BD Cultral.

You may be able to get away with pre-BD cultral, but this wont take you to 250, just 242 which is good enough.

Idea, go to CT and farm away. Make Tae Ew Chain or Tae Ew shields/weapons. I am sure some of your guild would die for some of the items you can make. Look at the recipe for Tae Ew Chain Tunic, 2 blood vials, 2 sapphires and the rest is pretty cheap. Just need a 39+ chanter.

                      Good luck.

the reason i mentioned fine plate was that it used to be trivial at 242 i beleive. that was before luclin so i wondered if you had the old trivials still. if you had it was rather easy for you to get to 242. since you dont it looks like tae ew and cultural are your best bet. sorry for the confusion.

Then I apologize. I didn't mean it as offensive or derogatory to anyone.

The reason I probably couldn't remember Venril Sathir is because of exactly the reason you state - it does get the same patchs as the SOE servers. The French and German servers, from my understanding, get patchs and content at different points and rates due to the localization work that needs to be done, which from my understanding has historically resulted in them having content a bit behind the SOE/UK servers, as well as some uniquely broken/changed content. I could easily be wrong in this, especially since I haven't heard anything about those servers in months, but that was the impression I formed from the commentary I read about them, here and elsewhere.

You may be able to get away with pre-BD cultral, but this wont take you to 250, just 242 which is good enough.
There are cases where old cultural can get you to 250. Enchanted Imbued Dwarven Plate breastplates and greaves triv >250, at the very least.

The Euro servers are on a seprate code-base.

They have some of the patches to the US line, but not all of the features. So while they may not have all the expansions, I seriously doubt that they also have smithing trivials with Fine Plate capping in the 200s.

Tae Ew chain and weapons have been sugguseted, and I see those are something that will take you all the way to 250, even if it is very difficult.

Prior to the implementation of Blue Diamond cultural Fine Plate smithing was pretty much the top-end of smithing, so if they haven't got that in their code-line, then there aren't many options.

He doesnt sell hte tempers anymore on any server anywhere in the world. You have to brew your own now, which as way things are may not be an option for you.
