Enchanted Velium Bits (quick question)

Ok, this isn't does it work, where to buy, blah, blah...

I'm trying to work these to 222. I got to 220 with about 1 skillup per 20-30 attempts, no big deal. The patch hit, I'm at 220, I have now done 150 combines at 150pp each (12.5spell + 20 cvt + 120ish 2pieces of velium) - no skillup. 23k ain't easy to swallow.

I don't get the trivial message...is anyone else experiencing problems from 220-222 since the patch?

hehe everyone has problems around there. bud had a hit about then just after patch. not in smithing thankfully. i doubt there is a skillup nerf though like some have suggested.
