  • Anyone know about enchanted velium bits after the patch?

    Just a couple of questions since I am at work and I am frantically trying to plan out my EQ time for when I get home;
Does the enchanted velium bits recipe still work?
Has the merchant selling coldain velium tempers been fixed and, also, is spawning?
Is the merchant that sells Spell: Enchant Velium spawning?

Thanks for the time guys, I would test this myself but for one, I am Iksar and it would be a PITA to make a level 1 to take to Thurg since I have never been there and I am also at work, as noted before.

um a few things. the guy selling cvt also sells the scrolls which is why you couldn't do the recie at all when he was perma killed.
why not faction some for thurg then?
what would be the point of running a level 1 over? cvts are still in bazaar and you should have stocked up on scrolls at some point by now. did you suddenly trash faction? just never kill a giant before?

As far as I'm aware there is no plan to put cvt back onto the merchant's list of items. The spell is still there, but you can no longer buy cvt.

          I have a 250+Trophy brewer...

Unless someone's paying me 50pp each for them, I'm not going to be making these for anyone else but myself!

Not unless you want me to look

Maybe some for friends if they need em bad, but not in mass quantities. Not unless someone's doing a bunch of the subcombines for me. hehehe

So glad I got smithing and tailoring done before this nerf.

Before the screw up, I could buy CVT's in the bazaar around 20pp (assuming any in stock) and from the vendor for 26pp. Now I'm gonna venture a guess that the going rate will be 40pp+

Yeah, they wanted to stop the macro machines, but this gives them a new out. Assuming the market isnt flooded with player made CVT's, the profit margin on this macroable combine just doubled or more. Granted its not adding plat into the economy, but it still is a something for nothing venture.

Not certain how this can be macro'd anymore as the merchant buy back rate is quite low, if nothing.

Yes, they could macro production of CVTs but they'd have to sell it in the bazaar.

And from experience, macroers want max profit with minimum work. Using your theory, they would have to have a trader to sell them in the bazaar and there is no guarantee that people would buy them.

While I'm sure that they would sell, it would be a matter of time -- the bazaar works in cycles. Somedays all I sell are opal encrusted steins. I could fill my trader up and sell them 7x over. other days it's nothing. And somedays 1 of each item.

Macroers made plat quickly by making stuff and reselling to vendors as that was easily coded. They still could macro production and sell in bazaar, but it doesn't strike me as their nature. Also I'd be leery of a trader with just CVTs. Not know because there probably is still some supply, but in a week (maybe a bit more) the original 0 pp supply probably will be gone and any trader having just CVTs would be suspect in my book.

Of course I make my own as that way has always been cheaper.

On Ay Ro, there is a healthy competition of players selling CVT I bought 4 stacks of em at 12pp each. Other player vendors are selling at 15, 18 and 20p each.

                  Price

On E'ci we got people selling them for 75pp - 200pp, or not selling any at all. So I'm stuck making them myself.

My theory is that they will allow the enchanted velium bits recipe stay in-game but not offer CVTs on a vendor. Just in case, though, I'm maxing out smithing on bits as fast as possible.

I am almost certain you were buying these right after everyone got their freebie tempers form the dwarf. I missed out on the freebie tempers, but was more than happy to pay 15pp/temper.

This happened on D.R. too, but after everyone bought up the tempers that cost less than those being sold by the vendor, they skyrocketed to 100pp+/temper.

If you've never done the subcombines for tempers, they are quite nasty. I refuse to do them, which is why I bought bag fulls of the tempers from those guys that got them for free.

If you wouldn't mind, check the prices again and report back. I seriously doubt they are still below 30pp, but let us know.

                    Thanks

If you buy the celestial essence in bulk, the rest of the combines aren't too bad. Takes about half an hour of leisurly clicking to crank out 100.

Well the day after I posted this, there are only 2 vendors selling .. one for 35 and one for 40p .. You may very well be correct. Makes me wish I had bought out the whole supply when I had the chance.
