pristine tae ew scales

my buddies and I have been hunting in CT for a month now and have yet to see this beauty drop ( a Pristine Tae Ew Scale)... anyone have any idea what they drop from? I could really use them for making plate.

I can confirm they drop from the lizards in 4C. I've had one drop from a green Lizard just before 4C and one drop from a brown Lizard in 4C.

This recipe is pointless. Tae Ew chain is everywhere, and I've never heard of anyone on my server making a single plate piece.

Because in 2 years, I've never seen one pair, or met someone who wears them, or seen them up for sale in the bazaar.

The drop rate is abysmal to the point that people spend a goodly amount of time around the drop area and never see a single one drop, to say nothing of dropping enough to make the greaves.

The stats on the Tae Ew chain are awesome too, but the blood needed for it drops like candy at a parade by comparison.

The drop rate on pristine scales is broken, I agree. And you can still fail the combine... heh that would really hurt.

Spent many hours in CT, got many bloods, have seen exactly one Pristine scale drop.

Spent about 10 hours total in 4C, only seen 1.

The combine is annoying yeah but not pointless to the Agnostic, The Tae Ew Plate is about as good as either the Kael or SS quest armors and can demand a high price when completed. Although this was pre-Elemental farmers on Tunare... Will have to check the prices again with items like Livestone, Windessence and Farwater the price for Tae Ew may have dropped.

Honestly, if you want a nice pair of leggings that are smithed, go for Hurricane plate or one of the other PoP recipes. Cazic Thule plate just isn't worth the pain of finding a group willing to spend a week of solid camping in 4C to get a single pair of pants.
